What is a Vertex?

vertex: The apex is located in the Western Hemisphere of your astrological chart. This is the right side that you are looking at. If you look at the image below, it is the intersection of the Prime Vertical and the Ecliptic. On either side of the chart it is considered a “destiny point”.

This destiny has to do with people you have met in the past and other events in your life that were meant to happen to help you learn about yourself. These are usually turning points in your life that will have a lasting impact. In regards to this “destiny point”, you will meet individuals with whom you may have a romantic, friendship, or spiritual connection from a past life. These individuals will help propel you towards a specific purpose in this life. The idea of vertices has been around for a long time in mathematics. It was introduced into astrology by John Doro in the early 1900s. Jane, a student of John Doro, took this even further by exploring the connection to karma or turning points in your life when you met these people. This can be good or bad depending on how you receive the energy of the transit. Personally, I have a vertex in my 7th house and can attest that this works. The people I have met have had a huge impact on my life outlook and career possibilities. I met one person on an empty street corner, stopped to ask for directions, and we hit it off immediately. We are still friends 15 years after that fateful day on the phone. When I met him, I immediately learned that we fought alongside Caesar as Roman legionnaires in Gaul. I felt the sound of swords, shields and battle formations. I’ve had many such experiences in my life. When I write about history, sometimes I remember that I was there when the events happened. Trust me, it works. I love my pinnacles.
