Jupiter is everyone’s favorite big dog in the sky, and from June 19th to August 19th he will be in the single most powerful section of the zodiac. Pushya is a Nakshatra that runs from 3° 20 Cancer to 16° 40 Cancer. This is the same band that includes exactly the exaltation of Jupiter at 5 degrees Cancer. The great teacher of the gods is parked in the throne room for 60 days, and Vedic tradition has long called Pushya the most auspicious nakshatra of the wheels.
Jupiter in Saturn’s Nakshatra
Pusha is ruled by Saturn. This combination is rare and important. Jupiter expands. Structure of Saturn. Jupiter says yes to everything. Saturn asks if you have the discipline to see it through. When Jupiter is within Saturn’s nakshatra, the wisdom that comes through is not that of a wild, optimistic, anything-goes guru. It’s the disciplined wisdom of teachers who have been teaching long enough to know enough about what actually works. This is a kind of grace that builds institutions, makes long-term plans, and keeps promises.
Pushya’s symbols are a cow’s udder, a lotus, and an arrow. Each refers to a different layer. Breasts are nourishment, wisdom that grows slowly, and sustains families across generations. The lotus flower is the unfolding of consciousness from the muddy waters of emotion to a clear spiritual vision. The arrow is the focused direction that Saturn gives to Jupiter’s expanding impulse. The presiding deity is Brihaspati himself, the high priest of the gods, which means that Jupiter is essentially channeling the deity he already represents. Few transits are so concentrated.

Jupiter in Cancer is a combination of wisdom and emotion. Cancer is the moon’s own sign, the most bullish of the zodiac signs, and the place where true education and knowledge begin to resonate. As I have taught for many years, without true emotional content, morality and wisdom are boring and useless. Jupiter here brings strong intuition, a beneficial home life, and creates great coaches, teachers, counselors, and humanitarians who can connect with what others actually feel rather than what they intellectually hope they will.
This is also a powerful window for science, healing work, any path that requires both Cancer’s open mind and Saturn’s careful discipline. Preferred are doctors, nurses, healers, teachers, civil servants, food producers, dairy workers, and literally any occupation that involves the nutrition of others.

For the market, Pusha records a bullish bias in historical data for soybeans and crude oil. Cancer itself is the most bullish sign in financial astrology. Overall, a two-month period with Jupiter in this band provides a constructive backdrop for a bull run in commodities, stocks related to staple foods and food production, and anything related to housing and family-related spending. Read this not as a single signal, but through your own cycle work.

Another dimension worth naming is the liver. Jupiter rules the liver, which is responsible for over 750 major functions in the body. With Jupiter strong and direct in Cancer, these two months are a great time to cleanse your liver, drink hot water with freshly squeezed lemon every morning, and cut down on heavy cheese, fried foods, and refined sugar. Spinal twists and cow pose support the liver, but don’t overdo it with proper guidance from a qualified yoga teacher.

Pusha will run from June 19th to August 19th. Then Jupiter enters Ashlesha (16°40 to 29°59 Cancer). Ashlesha is a much more complex sign ruled by Mercury and conveying the intensity of the Serpent. Please make good use of these 60 days. Clean Jupiter’s window of grace closes on August 19th.
