Water, emotions, and a flood of feelings
This is a very emotional eclipse, occurring in the water sign of Pisces and very close to Neptune.
The Moon is coming out of interactions with Saturn and Jupiter and heading into a Solar Eclipse, so some of August’s big restructuring themes may be true for you now. If so, take some time to imagine your dream life, even though it may still be a while before it comes to fruition.
Technically, the Moon is in between aspects with Jupiter and Neptune as it forms a Solar Eclipse. This creates an incredibly vast, large, and limitless nature. There are no limits, restrictions, or boundaries. You may feel overwhelmed or realize that you can’t handle more than you normally would.
Shadows, darkness, feeling my way
Remember that during a lunar eclipse the moon temporarily loses its light, this is not about what you know but about what you sense and feel.
In Pisces we are far from the realm of facts and details. Instead, we may be immersed in a flood of emotions. We may be reminiscing about the past or fantasizing about the future. We may be daydreaming or imagining.
You may also find yourself running late, being forgetful, or needing extra rest or a slower pace — this is not a productive or action-oriented eclipse — instead, you may need to rest and recuperate.
Jupiter in Gemini and Lunar Eclipse in Pisces
The solar eclipse is ruled by Jupiter, who will be in Gemini at the time of the eclipse. Jupiter in Gemini brings with it a curious, but also scattered and unfocused nature. You may feel exhausted and find yourself juggling too many things at once. You may find that you have a ton of ideas, but your body just can’t keep up with how fast your mind is working.
There are many variable The energies around this eclipse are in Pisces and are ruled by the planets in Gemini.
Mutable signs love movement and change. They’re up for anything and are willing to change course along the way. You might choose a detour or side path that’s nourishing and healing right now, even if it means moving away from your main priority.
You will be experiencing a range of emotions during the eclipse, and it may be important for you to release and make peace with the past.
Jupiter is in the 4th position to a Pisces solar eclipse, which may activate 4th house themes of home, home, family, and family history.
A new cycle of solar eclipses begins in Pisces
This is the first solar eclipse in Pisces, so as part of this lunar eclipse, a new eclipse cycle also begins.
The Aries and Libra solar eclipse is coming to an end.
In early October, the final Libra solar eclipse of the cycle will occur, concluding the series of Libra solar eclipses that began a year ago in October 2023.
As we enter 2025, the final solar eclipse will occur in Aries in March, concluding a series of solar eclipses in Aries that began in April 2023.
So this eclipse in Pisces will usher in a new pattern: eclipses will occur intermittently in Pisces until August 2026. As we move into 2025, eclipses will also begin to occur in Virgo, but not until next year.
One technical point to note is that the eclipse will roughly follow the path of the transiting nodes. Currently, the nodes are moving through Aries and Libra. In January 2025, the nodes will move into Pisces and Virgo, and the eclipse shift will follow suit.
Facing the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces
Eclipses are always pattern-breakers. They can be unsettling times when routines and rituals are upended. You may want to break out of the familiar. Even if you want to keep things the way they are, you may have to adapt to changing circumstances. Taking time to be in touch with your emotions under this big, emotion-filled eclipse in Pisces may be most insightful and healing.
With the light of the moon temporarily blocked, you may intuitively gain insights that you were not aware of before. This week you may find yourself in need of quiet reflection, a slower pace, and experiences that are healing and emotionally supportive.
Sending you all so much love and support during this inspiring eclipse week!
