From late June to early July, it will be busier than usual. A retrograde station, a full moon, two hard contacts with Mars, and a heliocentric crossing all land within nine days. This week’s format is to build and then break. On the Fourth of July, tensions are built, maintained, and released. This is what the sky looks like in stellar terms.
June 29th to 31st: Mars square Rahu and Ketu (true node)
Mars comes square with the Moon node which is the true nodal axis of Rahu and Ketu. This is a friction sign. The nodes indicate where events feel fateful and monstrous, and Mars is the planet of power, heat, and speed. When these two come into conflict, there are recurring themes of accidents, sharp words, fire and machinery, and crowds moving faster than their better judgement. Leave a wider margin than usual for things that have momentum, such as on the road, in the market, or in conversation. The charge builds up over these three days and is not fully discharged until Mars and Uranus touch each other the following week.
June 29th: Full Moon in Sagittarius
The Full Moon is in the sidereal sign of Sagittarius, opposite the Sun in Gemini. Sagittarius is the fire sign of Jupiter and represents the long-term perspective of teachers, laws, and beliefs. The full moon here illuminates the distance between what we know in detail, the Gemini side, and what we trust in principle, the Sagittarius side. The Moon is strong for studying, travel planning, and resuming practice, but weak for overreaching and over-promising. Keep an eye on your ruler, Jupiter, who will be busy this week. See July 1st.
June 29th: Mercury Observatory is retrograde (2 degrees) in Cancer until July 23rd
Mercury turns retrograde at 2 degrees Cancer and will remain retrograde until July 23rd. Cancer is the sign of home, memory, and security, and Mercury is the messenger. Expect familiar retrograde textures, crossed signals, delayed messages, and try-again technology with a Cancer flavor. Old conversations with family members will resurface and decisions about your home, property, and possessions may need to be revisited. This is a review period, not an initiation period. Back up your data, check your schedule, and reread before sending. Anything currently signed or shipped may be reviewed before being sent directly to the station.
July 1: Heliocentric Pluto opposes Jupiter
As seen from the Sun rather than the Earth, Pluto and Jupiter will be at opposition on July 1st. Heliocentric contacts speak less about personal chart details and more about the larger structures, products, currencies, and atmosphere beneath the headlines. As Jupiter expands and Pluto focuses, this conflict becomes a tug of war between excess and control, between the urge to grow and the pressure to integrate. Look for thematic tipping points where both parties jointly dominate, such as big capital, shared resources, and anything where confidence and raw power intersect.
July 4th: Mars conjuncts Uranus (earthquake sign)
Mars and Uranus meet in a classic shock sign. In mundane astrology, this combination is on the short list for earthquakes, sudden weather, explosions, and sudden market reversals. Because Uranus is the planet where unexpected things happen, and Mars is the trigger that causes them. This window is widest around the 4th of July, with orbs of the day visible on either side. This does not predict specific events at specific locations. This is a warning flag to help you anticipate the unexpected, avoid unnecessary risks, and avoid being caught off guard by sudden changes. This is also the release point for tensions that have been building since Mars Node Square on June 29th.
put it together
Build and then destroy. Tensions gather through the Mars node square and the Sagittarius Full Moon, are maintained through Mercury stations and geocentric Jupiter-Pluto oppositions, and are released with the Mars-Uranus conjunction on July 4th. Through this window, slow down, leave some margin, and treat the first days of July as a time to respond well, rather than initiate. Planets that travel over years rather than days are making headlines. Listen more than you act.
