Kelly Rowland was one of the notable honorees at the 2026 Black Women in Music Dinner held in Los Angeles on Friday, June 12. Singer, actress and style icon Kelly Rowland has been honored with the prestigious Velvet Guard Award, which honors artists whose talent, influence and enduring presence are intricately woven into the fabric of culture.
This honor was bestowed by Roland’s beloved mother, Tina Knowles, who expressed her heartfelt condolences. “Kelly, you are a rare gem. You are a superstar in every sense of the word and the best wife, mother, sister, friend and daughter anyone could ask for,” Knowles said.
For the glamorous evening, Roland made a stunning fashion statement wearing a striking emerald green Tom Ford satin crepe dress from the Haider Ackermann house’s debut collection. Straight off the runway, the floor-grazing design featured elegant long sleeves and a dramatic open back, creating a sensual contrast to the gown’s sophisticated full-coverage front and exuding understated glamour. The lustrous satin crepe fabric accentuates the flowing movement of the silhouette, creating a look that’s subtly sophisticated and undeniably seductive.
