Strange but amazing tricks to fall asleep

I’m a light sleeper, so I’ve often found myself wishing there was a sleep training program for adults. If you told me that I would definitely be able to sleep more consistently after that, I would 100% cry. But now that I’m in the big girl bed, I’m stuck with magnesium powder, amber light bulbs, breathing techniques, and other supposedly scientific, probably completely stupid sleep tricks. I tried everything I heard, whether it was from an actual doctor or a column in a nail salon magazine. Triangular breathing? Why not! Cognitive shuffle? It’s in.

But finally, I figured out a trick to falling asleep with almost perfect success rate. It took me years to realize that it was what it was. Because no one recommended it to me as a sleep tip. There’s something you have to do at least once a day: choose your clothes in your head. that’s it. That’s the trick. Close your eyes, think about the weather forecast for the next day, visualize your closet and assemble your clothes. I rarely buy one or two pieces of clothing. It comes out within a few minutes each time.

And just to be clear, I don’t work in an office, and my typical social interactions during the week are a quick chat at school pick-up and finishing off a not-yet-wet art project my 6-year-old son has shoved at me before hitting the sidewalk. I’m not in a glamorous stage of life, so my outfits reflect that. Jeans or leggings are basically the only outfits I put together in my head at night. something On top. But as everyone knows, even the simplest outfit requires a little calculation. If you’re going to wear a white t-shirt, you’ll need a light beige bra. You need a good bra, not a fancy one. Is it pretty? Yes, it’s pretty enough. Oh, and a sweatshirt for my coworking space. It’s summer now, so the air conditioner is on. — and I was out. boom.

My theory is why this works: 1. Unlike other tricks for nodding, this one is not for the purpose. I’m trying Falling asleep (as we all know, trying to fall asleep only gets harder). And now that I know it, do Knock me out, that’s never the goal. Deciding what to wear is just a job I have to do. I’m not fooling myself by imagining I’m on a boat or something (guided meditation, which is also something I’ve tried). and 2. It requires an appropriate amount of mental involvement. You have to think about it, but it’s not too difficult. It’s not so difficult that it causes stress. That’s enough to eliminate the anxiety of when and how to fall asleep.

Does science support my theory? No. Will this trick work for everyone? Probably not – especially if you have a capsule wardrobe or all Your bra is “good”. But if you’re like me and you’re tired of being lectured about sleep hygiene and ambient temperature and you just want to pass out, may I suggest you just close your eyes and choose your clothes? Worst case scenario, you’ll stay awake, but at least you’ll know what you’ll be wearing tomorrow.

Are there any strange but effective tricks to fall asleep? Or what if you fall? return How to sleep?
