Why does Chapel Rohan paint his face white?

Of course, you know Chapel Lawn. If you don’t, Where were you?!?

If you’ve been following Chappelle’s meteoric rise to superstardom this year, you may have noticed her frequently sporting white face paint.

Now, the recent performance in Manchester ( Pop Crave), Chappelle explained why she wears makeup so often, and her explanation makes a lot of sense.

“People in my hometown will call gay people clowns, and I don’t really say that,” she said, “so I actually wear whiteface.”

“Bitch, I’ll show you the clown.”

In the video, Chappelle also emphasized the importance of building community through music. “This is what I care about, because I look at you guys and I see community,” she told the crowd. “When I was 15, I really needed this. I really needed this. Just being in a room with people that look like me.”

“Thank you for coming. Please know that this is where you belong.”
