Elton John plans to return to Mexico City for a final farewell.
The music legend will return to the city for the first time in 14 years with two farewell concerts at the Estadio Banorte on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd October. The show, presented by AEG Presents, Cárdenas Marketing Network and Enso Music, will be a long-awaited farewell to Elton’s Mexican fans after the Latin American leg of Elton’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For fans in Mexico and Latin America, this announcement closes a chapter that many feared would never happen.

long-awaited return
Elton John has shared a special connection with Mexican audiences for decades. He first performed in Mexico City 34 years ago and gave two concerts at Azteca Stadium in 2018. The One toured and introduced generations of fans to his legendary live show. His most recent appearance was in 2012, when he performed two intimate “Elton & Ray Cooper” concerts at the Auditorio Nacional.
After more than 10 years, the singer-songwriter is back for what organizers say is a “once in a lifetime” event.
“Mexico City has always held a special place in my heart,” Elton said in a statement. “We were really disappointed that we were unable to tour Latin America during our farewell tour due to the pandemic, which makes this return especially meaningful. We are thrilled to finally be able to share this special moment with our fans after so many years…”
The concert is expected to draw fans from all over Mexico, as well as Latin America and other countries, and will be the final opportunity to celebrate one of music’s most enduring careers.

A career that changed music
Few artists have had as much cultural impact as Elton John.
Over a career spanning more than 50 years, the superstar has built one of pop music’s most celebrated catalogs with timeless hits such as “Rocketman,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Your Song,” “I’m Still Standing” and “Benny and the Jets.” His influence extends beyond his chart success, with a legacy of acclaimed stage work, award-winning film work, and advocacy that has made him one of the most recognizable figures in entertainment.
Although his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour officially ended in 2023, this Mexico City show will give fans a rare opportunity to once again experience Elton live in a city that has embraced his music for generations.
