Chappell Roan may have declared that she would “get the job done” with her latest release, “The Giver,” but the singer had no idea what “service top” meant until recently.
Sapphic Songstress debuted country track first Saturday Night Live Last year, when she said, “Only women know how to treat women correctly.”
“‘You have to tell me, so it’s just my nature. So make it like a taker, ‘Cause, baby, I’m the gifter,'” she sang. “You don’t need to help me. ‘Cause, baby, I’ll deliver, not a country boy kitter.
She finally released the song this year after bullying a lesbian anthem snippet via hotline numbers shared on signs in New York, LA and Nashville. The song is clearly an Ode formula for lesbian sex, and is so well received for that reason, Lone admitted that he “didn’t know” what the “top of service” was before releasing the truck.
Roan appeared in a recent episode of Mutuals Media’s Gader Along with host and drug performer Anania, he said, “Are you gay, straight or homophobic?”
The star was asked, “What is a service top? And do you identify as one?”
In response, she told host Anania:
“I’m just having sex that feels good,” she said. And that’s tea.
Anania then said, “Absolutely! I wish I could say the same thing.”
The hit maker of “Pink Pony Club” also revealed Alanis Morissett Jagged little medicine “Article that made her gay” and she also cooks at her date deal breaker.
“Longnails are police officers,” she said. “In a lesbian relationship, people are friends with their exes and those who live with exes are really close to your ex girlfriend and if we’re on a date, let’s talk about it.”
What is “Service Top”?
If you don’t know what the top service is, you’re not alone. “The Giver” Queen of Chappell Roan admitted that until recently he had not realized the meaning of the phrase.
In queer culture, a service top is someone who can come and go in and out of the bedroom, feeling happy with the joy of their partner. This includes acts of service that waters plants, ensuring that your pet is nourished and demonstrates love through actions.
Roan leaps into this Giving vibe by emulating dentists, lawyers, plumbers and construction workers in the marketing material for “The Giver” and emulating lyrics like “The Take/’Baby I’m A Giver” and “She’s done with work”;
It is important to note, however, that strange relationships often challenge heteronormative binaries and labels such as “top”, “bottom”, and “switch”.
