Burning Man Orgy Dome (GoFundMe)
One of Burning Man’s most famous camps is asking the community for help after severe weather damaged its infrastructure.
Orgy Dome is operated by the non-profit organization Consensuality Inc. gofundme Campaign seeking $30,000 for reconstruction ahead of Burning Man 2026.
Consensuality details the destruction on GoFundMe: “This year, strong winds blew through and destroyed one of Burning Man’s most beloved landmarks, the dome…That means no cool, air-conditioned oasis. No lessons about enthusiastic consent. No wild, tender, sweaty, fun gatherings of humans of all genders, bodies, ethnicities, abilities, and stories.”
Organizers say a powerful sandstorm and wind gusts reaching 80 miles per hour hit Black Rock City during the 2025 event, causing irreparable damage to the interconnected carport structure that houses the Aussie Dome.
The camp, which has been in operation for more than 20 years, reportedly attracts between 8,000 and 10,000 participants each year. SF gateand relies on a large team of volunteers to run it.
The fundraising campaign outlines plans to replace the damaged equipment with new weatherproof structures, including a 50-foot-tall geodesic dome, a circus tent for orientation and workshops, and upgraded soundproofing and weatherproofing systems. Organizers said other costs such as laundry, safer sex supplies and operational costs will continue to be borne by camp members, as detailed in a May 23 Reddit post by Aussie Dome.
Organizers also leaned into the camp’s cheeky reputation, joking: “Let’s get this right.”
