Why are remedies important now?

I have been practicing Vedic Astrology since 1987, and in those 40 years I have seen countless students and clients face real challenges that cannot be solved with standard astrological knowledge alone. We can identify the problem – a weak planet, an afflicted house, a difficult dasha – but knowing what the problem is is only half the battle. The deeper work is to learn how to transform that challenge through the tools our tradition has provided.

This question has become urgent as we are currently going through some intense transits. If the stars indicate difficulties ahead, what can you actually do about it? This is how the remedy works. This is not wishful thinking. It’s not a mental bypass. Realistic, practical, evidence-based interventions based on 40 years of practice.

Over nine Saturdays, we will explore the full range of therapeutic approaches, both the Western therapies that are part of my practice and the classical Vedic therapies that form our foundation. This is not a theory divorced from life. Each class interweaves case studies and practical examples so you can see how these treatments work in practice when faced with real-world challenges.

This course spans eight major areas of life.

  • Class 1-2: Principles of prescribing therapy – an overview of therapy theory, traditional and modern approaches. Therapy for spiritual development.
  • Class 3: Remedies for the house and Dasha.
  • Class 4: Nakshatras and planetary remedies.
  • Class 5: Principles of gem therapy.
  • Class 6: Western medicine and Vedic therapy for human relationships.
  • Class 7-8: Western and Vedic remedies for finance.
  • Class 9: Western medicine and Vedic therapies for health, learning disabilities, sleep disorders, and self-esteem.

Why use both Western and Vedic?

I started studying Vedic culture in 1973, long before I became an astrologer. Over the decades, I have come to treat Western therapeutic approaches not as an alternative to tradition, but as a companion to it. I have remained rooted in classical texts by visiting India four times to learn first-hand, speaking regularly at the Vedic Astrology Conference in Sedona since 1999, and speaking at the British Association of Vedic Astrologers since 2006.

But my life as a meditation teacher and yoga teacher has taught me something essential. That is, remedies work best when they meet people where they are. The deep soul work of Vedic practice can be amplified by Western modes of addressing the mind, body, and practical structures of modern life.

The Western approach I teach does not abandon tradition, whether it is talk therapy, physical work, or energy-based practices. They’re trying to deepen it. Understanding both systems allows you to prescribe with wisdom. You can see the whole person. And with compassion and skill, we can meet the unique needs of each student or client.

Who is this course for?

If you are a student or practitioner of Vedic astrology who wants to move beyond diagnosis and towards actual healing, this course is designed for you. If you’ve wanted to integrate other healing modalities into your astrology practice but didn’t know how, we can be your bridge. And if you’re just someone navigating difficult transportation or dashas and want a practical, grounded tool, this is the place to start.

No prior astrology knowledge is required for the preview session. But if you’re already studying astrology, you’ll find depth and nuance that will take your astrology practice to the next level. This is the best restoration work, based on both tradition and innovation, tested through 40 years of real practice.
