In recent client work, the timing suggested by secondary progressions has been fascinating and particularly insightful. I thought you, too, might find it interesting to hear what’s emerging. Here are four snippets showing different progress in action.
Evolved Balsamic Moon Phase and Understated Theme
One client was wondering why other timing techniques weren’t expressing as strongly or having as much impact as they expected. After checking her progress, we found that she is in an ongoing Balsamic Moon Phase or Dark Moon Phase. This is a time of rest, closure, and completion.
The advanced stage of balsamic can last up to four years, and everyone experiences it at some point during the longer 30-year cycle. It’s usually a quieter, more introspective time, and you may prefer to slow things down, go inward, or generally move and live life at a slower pace.
Sun to Leo: More confidence and energy
Meanwhile, another client had their progressed Sun moving from Cancer to Leo, which also happened to be their first house.
This progressive shift to the Sun’s ruling sign, Leo, occurs in most people with the Sun in Gemini or Cancer in their birth chart, and, depending on their lifespan, for those with the Sun in Taurus.
As you can imagine, the progressed Sun moving into your home sign not only increases your confidence and self-belief, but also greatly strengthens your spirit.
The Sun’s progression into Leo is a vibrant influence that will last for 30 years and can encourage clients to step into the light and take charge or prioritize the goals and experiences that are most important to them. This indicates that more visible and impactful opportunities await.
A progressive planet transitioning from a water sign to a fire sign
Progressed planets moving from water signs to fire signs become more active and expressive. When this happens, you may become better at making clear, fact-based choices and driving progress.
An advanced planet in a water sign is not better or worse than an advanced planet in a fire sign, but they are different. Progressive planets in water signs may have a quieter, reflective or thoughtful nature, emphasizing connections and security rather than growth and progress.
Your ascendant ruler changes signs as it progresses: from Mercury to Aries
It’s also important when the planets that rule your natal Ascendant evolve into a more dynamic, bold, or vital sign.
For this client, there is a direct link from that shift to increased self-awareness and understanding of one’s true potential as the ruler of the Ascendant grows into one of its most important and effective signs with the Sun’s transition into Leo.
A similar thing happened to another client with a Gemini Ascendant. This client also wants to gradually change the sign of the Ascendant’s ruling planet.
For them, Mercury progresses from Pisces to Aries. Although Mercury doesn’t have any special sign-based dignity in Aries, Mercury was in one of its malefic signs while in Pisces, so this change will help reduce confusion and uncertainty.
For Mercury, this progression from Pisces to Aries may be like moving out of an intuitive but more chaotic or tortuous season into a cycle where expression and thinking become bolder, bolder, more specific, and more goal-oriented.
Progressive Mercury moving from Pisces to Aries can bring increased energy and motivation, as well as clarity and enthusiasm for new projects.
Given that Mercury rules the Gemini Ascendant, this change will mark an important development in their self-understanding. In the future, this client may be better able to incorporate his preferences and desires into his life and choose the path he wants to take, rather than constantly reacting to or being distracted by what’s going on around him.
Progressed Sun in aspect to Uranus at birth: freedom, excitement, and breaking patterns along the way
As I was working with member charts for the Check Your Chart video this month, I was excited to see that they were about to experience progress as their Sun conjunct their natal Uranus, a great omen of freedom, change, and breaking patterns.
This client was stuck in a dilemma regarding the direction of his career and life, and was trying to decide whether to continue working full-time for a few more years or consider semi-retirement or part-time work sooner.
With Uranus in the mix, it’s no wonder it makes sense to step away from your full-time job and experiment with different schedules and work opportunities, or even self-employment.
These are just a few examples of the real-life progress that has been made in recent weeks.
