Among all, There are many makeup brands out there, but Merit Beauty is at the top of my list. Its minimalist, effortless approach to beauty (not to mention its super chic packaging) has made it a staple in my and my fellow beauty editors’ makeup bags. i’m already a big fan merit clean rush (£24), the brand’s first mascara. So when I heard that Merit was releasing a new volume mascara, clean volume (24 lbs.), my interest was immediately piqued. I’ve been testing the new mascara over the past few weeks, so scroll on for my thoughts on whether it’s worth having in your makeup bag.

clean volume
Strong Points
- Adds volume, lengthens and contours without clumps
- Assembleable
- Since it is a tube type, it is easy to remove and does not get dirty.

- Tested by an ophthalmologist. Safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers
Cons
- mascara that doesn’t curl too much
Clean Volume is a tubular mascara designed to add volume to your lashes without clumping. While many volume mascaras feature large wands with long bristles, Clean Volume specifically features a comb wand that is more nimble and flexible. For me, who has sunken and hooded eyes, this is a complete game changer as many bulky wands end up transferring the product to my eyelids and under my eyes. However, we do not compromise on volume. But this small comb wand helps catch all the lashes and deposits just the right amount of product when sweeping the lashes, giving you defined yet full lashes and plenty of length. No spider-like eyelashes here.
The tubular formula not only resists flaking, smudging, and crumbling throughout the day, but it also slides off your lashes between your fingertips and removes easily with just hot water.
Before and after

As you can see, this mascara delivers on its promise of adding volume without looking heavy or spicy. This is a one-coat application, but if you’re looking for a more dramatic effect, it can be easily layered for added strength without clumping. I like to curl my eyelashes before applying mascara, but if your eyelashes are short or straight, I recommend not skipping this step.
Clean rush vs clean volume

If you’re wondering which formula to choose, or want to know if you need Clean Volume in your makeup bag too, there are some important differences to know. Clean Lash achieves a fluttery, natural look and features a classic bristly wand that gives it a feathery flutter. In my opinion, it is the perfect everyday mascara.
Clean volume, on the other hand, provides a more defined yet voluminous look. Think smoother and pointier in the best way. The wand is also relatively flexible and has tiny bristles that deliver small but powerful pigment to the lashes. Whichever you choose, each comes in black or brown options.
Personally, I think it’s justified to keep both in your makeup bag. Clean Lash is still my favorite everyday mascara, but when the nights come around where I want a bolder eye look, I’ll definitely switch to Clean Volume for a more dramatic look.
my verdict

I’ve been testing Clean Volume over the past few weeks, and I have to say I’m impressed. I’m not usually a volumizing mascara type (I personally prefer longer mascara) (Curling Mascara) But Merit Beauty’s innovative brush changed me. You can easily get fuller lashes without the risk of overloading yourself with too many products. I also love that it leaves my lashes long and defined. The eyelashes feel light and flexible without feeling heavy like mascara. Oh, and getting rid of it at the end of the day is an absolute dream. it’s just melt I take a shower and leave. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a new voluminous mascara.
