Supermodel Kate Moss is perfect for anti-algorithm style advertising. She has a well-honed personal aesthetic that isn’t influenced by viral trends on TikTok or seduced by temporary IT items. The key to having a timeless personal style is having a few signature pieces that are truly ‘you’ and will only get better with age. Moss has been wearing the same hero items for decades. Ballet pumps, velvet blazers, leopard-print coats, vintage floral tea dresses, and black stilettos are as much a part of her wardrobe now as they were in her Topshop days.

In 2005, Kate wore a velvet blazer and white jeans to a gig in Brixton.

Even though her outfits have been copied many times, she doesn’t feel the need to try new outfit formulas. And why should she? For the past few months, Moss has been wearing the outfit he’s relied on since the incident. 90’s. One of her go-to hero items is a velvet jacket, and power blazers (often realized in velvet) are key to Anthony Vaccarello’s vision for Saint Laurent. So it was fateful for her to wear a vampy black smoking jacket (with a bit of sparkle at the collar) to the front row of the latest Saint Laurent show in Paris. And during the day, she wore another black velvet blazer over a vintage floral maxi dress, which she teamed with knee-high boots. This is a textbook Kate Moss outfit. She may have left the party behind in the 2000s to found a wellness brand called Cosmos, but her deep-seated love of velvet tailoring and leopard print still makes her an ally of the troubled British rock star who shows up after dark. I’m dressed like that.

Keep scrolling to see Parisian fashion and shop her signature staples.

Style notes: On the Saint Laurent front row, Kate wore an all-black look with a velvet tuxedo jacket with beaded collar. Gold cuffs add even more glamor.

Style notes: Kate shows that Velvet Blazer is more than just an after-dark hero. She wore the jacket over another Moss staple, a floaty maxi dress in a vintage floral print.

Style notes: This outfit is textbook Kate Moss. She often adds one statement leopard piece to her simple, classic ensembles.
