Oh my pigeons! is a silly party game published by Ravensburger. It can be played by 2-5 players and takes about 20 minutes to play. You have to prove you’re the master by filling your bench with pigeons, but you can play cards to change the number of pigeons on other people’s boards or place more pigeons on your own board. Ravensburger is Disney Villains Games, and more recently Lorcana and Fear Expansion.

How do I play?
Raffensburger calls Oh my pigeons! “The silly party game.” It’s exactly what it sounds like. It can accommodate up to five players. Each player starts with three cards and three pigeons on the board. The object of the game is to fill the bench board with pigeons before any other player does. If you manage to do this, you win the game.
The rules are easy to understand and great: when it’s your turn, you place a card from your hand face up on the discard pile and do what the card says: you can add doves to the board from the supply, steal doves from other players, remove doves from other players, some cards have conditions that mean a player with more than a certain number of doves must return some, and some allow you to place more doves on the board if you have less than a certain number of doves.
If you have two heart cards, you can play both together to get more pigeons as shown on the cards. But the most common and most likely card is the “Oh My Pigeons!” card. When you play this card, you roll the dice and can either take 3 pigeons, take 5 pigeons, steal 4 pigeons total, steal 2 pigeons total, or get pigeon dropping. If you get pigeon dropping, you place the dice near your bench and flick it towards the other player’s bench. Pigeons that are knocked off the bench return to the central supply.
Now, the cards aren’t just offensive cards: there are “NON” cards that stop a player from taking the action shown on the card, which can stop a player from robbing a pigeon or clicking a poop after rolling the dice.
After you play a card, you draw one, so you always start and end with three cards in your hand. If a player places all of their cards on their bench, the game ends immediately and they are the winner. If the deck of cards runs out instead, each player takes one more turn to try to collect the most pigeons. The player with the most pigeons at that point wins the game.
verdict
Ultimately, this is one of those silly games that works well with the right team: not only do you attack the player who’s currently winning, but you also look for ways to position your cards to sneakily get ahead and win without being attacked by other players.
This is a game where you have to target other players. That means you have to be “mean” to each other so that the other players’ boards don’t get filled with pigeons. To do that, you have to play aggressive cards to make them remove pigeons from their boards, while at the same time playing cards that add more pigeons to yours. If you don’t enjoy doing that, don’t play it.
The components are simple, but there are creative aspects, such as the use of plastic pigeons and the rolling of dice to represent pigeon droppings, but other than that it’s just 50 cards, 36 pigeons and one die to roll.
If you want a short game that you can play without exhausting your brain, it’s a great game to battle with friends and throw the occasional poop at.
You can grab Oh my pigeons! On Amazon MSRP is $19.99.
