If you’re not already there, check out my book Eat Beautiful. It is packed with seasonal recipes and ideas for ingredients specifically curated to support healthy, radiant skin.

Do you need breakfast?

With intermittent fasting becoming more and more popular, more and more people are choosing to skip breakfast and stretch it faster until lunch. This works well for many people, but with an early start and an active lifestyle, skipping breakfast may be more harmful than good.

Breakfast has long been advertised as the most important meal of the day. Studies suggest that eating breakfast can start metabolism, improve focus and support overall health. Additionally, skipping breakfast can disrupt the body’s natural rhythm, causing low energy levels and reduced concentration throughout the day, leading to overeating and snacks in the late afternoon. Of course, what we eat for breakfast is also important to make the healthiest choices to start the day. Whether you choose to eat breakfast should be guided by something that will help you and your lifestyle, and choose to skip breakfast as there are days when you have a slow and late start.

How much protein should I eat for breakfast?

When eating breakfast, protein is a key ingredient in a balanced diet, especially to maintain healthy skin and consistent energy levels. It supports muscle repair, boosts metabolism, and keeps you feeling full. Experts recommend consuming 20-30 grams of protein at breakfast. This can be achieved through foods such as eggs, Greek yogurt, nuts and protein-rich smoothies.

Eating the season: Spring fruits and vegetables

Spring is the perfect time to adopt fresh, seasonal produce that benefits both health and skin. Seasonal diets allow you to get fresh ingredients packed with nutrients your body needs at this time of year.

There are plenty of spring fruits and vegetables to consider incorporating into your breakfast. I love strawberries packed with vitamin C to boost collagen production. Kiwi is a great source of vitamin E for skin elasticity, and asparagus is rich in free radicals, carrots, beta-carotene and antioxidants that promote skin, which reduces inflammation and reduces spin haunch. Eggs are a great breakfast food all year round, as they are a great source of vitamins and protein.

Eating seasonal foods not only improves flavor and dietary variety, but also guarantees the greatest nutritional benefits from the food.
