Caitlin highlighted my hair. at home It was her first time and she did it in just over 2 hours and did an amazing job. It’s amazing that we now have a live-in hairdresser!

It was so fun to see how she mixed the colors. I had never seen her do that before.

Cyrus came in and was like, “Wow!! How many foils do you have in your hair??” I realized he had never seen what it was like to have highlights in hair.

Final result!

David walked all the way to his church car on Sunday. This was a huge deal and we were so proud of him. Watch his video here.

David walked all the way to his church car on Sunday. We have been working hard to get him to walk independently and not want to be held constantly when walking long distances and this was a huge win for him!!

What I’m reading is…

merciful christ – This is a beautiful devotional that brings so many stories of the Bible to life in fresh and meaningful ways. please listen Click here for a podcast episode with the author.

What I’m seeing is…

Jesse and I started watching this program Two nights ago, we fell in love with it and stayed up until midnight watching it. That rarely happens anymore. It’s quite refreshing. There are only a few words, but I found the gamesmanship to be very appealing. and I’ve seen little house on the prairie With the kids.

What I’m hearing is…

kids really like it david movie So they always ask us to listen to the soundtrack in the car.

I absolutely love summer with these four little people! Baby girl is becoming an honored member of our family, we are all fiercely attached to her, and so grateful to have the privilege of helping raise her.

Kirsten loves reading kids in boxcar Read books this summer!

When life is going well, it’s easy to say, “I trust God.” But is that true even when you are in a deep pit of suffering?

When the rug is about to be pulled out from under you. When what you hope or pray for doesn’t come true. When a friend deeply betrays you. When your bank account is almost empty and you don’t know how to pay your bills.

When you couldn’t get the job you really wanted. When your child learns shocking news. When I was infertile for the second time for many years. When a loved one leaves your life and you haven’t heard from them for months. When the door you were excited to walk through slammed into your face.

We have experienced many heartbreaks in various areas of our lives over the past few years, but very few of them have been able to be shared online. Maybe someday, but for now, I want you to know that the faith I speak of here is not just something that sounds nice when life is easy. Tested. Over and over again.

And God has been with us through thick and thin. God has been faithful even in the hardest, darkest, most uncertain moments of our lives…and I believe He will continue to be so.

He was. He is. And he will be.

question: Let us know if you use any apps that help with your training.

answer: What I’m using is runner app. I really like it – you input the distance and speed you can currently run, how many days a week you want to train, what your training goals are and when your race date or goal is, and what days you want to do your long runs, and it generates a customized plan that includes different types of runs each week, tips, encouragement, tapering for the race, and more.

It really helped me prepare for the 10km. They gave me a code called CRYSTAL2. If you want to try it out, it’s free for two weeks. I think you can get a very good feel for the fit within that time frame.

Jesse set a goal several months ago to compete in a CrossFit competition. And I did just that last Friday, and it turned out better than I expected. One of my favorite parts of the tournament was watching the kids cheer him on. Two weeks ago, they came to cheer me on during my first 10km. And last week, they came to support Jesse at his first CrossFit competition.

We hope that watching our 44- and 45-year-old parents do something so far outside of their comfort zone will inspire their children. You’re never too old to try something new or do something scary.

Kirsten lost her first tooth last week. She was so excited for it to come out that she probably woke up in the middle of the night and worked really hard to get it out.

But it was in the dark, so when it came out, she couldn’t find it.

So she woke us up at 4:30am, excited that she lost a tooth and panicked that she couldn’t find it.

Thankfully we found it. She is very excited about her first visit with the Tooth Fairy. She asked me to be the tooth fairy and give her more than a dollar. I think she learned negotiation from her older siblings.

No more time is needed. We need a different perspective –You keep thinking that life will settle down someday… But often that day never comes. Because the problem is usually not just the schedule. It’s the pressure that you feel like it’s all on you. In this podcast episode, I share what I’ve learned about time, priorities, and abandonment while balancing different roles. And I hope it helps you live more peacefully, joyfully, and purposefully. (Also available here) apple podcast and spotify. )
