If you have a college student at home (or teeth You yourself already know how quickly expenses can add up, from groceries and dorm essentials to last-minute necessities. Having a daughter in college, we have experienced all the changes that come with it.

And one thing I’ve seen firsthand? University students are busy. Between classes, work, and friendships, you don’t have a lot of extra time to run errands or look for deals to stay on top of everything. At the same time, most students have a fairly limited budget and are always looking for ways to make a little more money.

That’s why I’m always looking for simple and practical ways to make this season a little easier, especially when it comes to saving time and money. and money. I recently learned that walmart+student College students receive a 50% discount (off the regular subscription price).

What is Walmart+Student?

Walmart+ Student is a discounted version of Walmart+ specifically aimed at college students, with all the same benefits at a lower price. Eligible students can receive 50% off regular memberships, bringing the cost down to approximately $6.47 per month or approximately $49 per year.

Even better? Start with a 30-day free trial and see if it fits your routine. If you want to try it, Sign up here.

Why this is a game changer for students

Watching my daughter navigate her college experience has really made it clear that anything that saves time and mental energy is just as valuable as saving money.

Here are some ways this membership can make a difference.

1. Free shipping (no last-minute store operation required)

Get groceries, toiletries, dorm essentials and more delivered right to your door. Delivery is free on orders over $35, so if you’re busy with classes or work, you can always skip indoor trips (and potentially tempting purchases). This alone can save you a lot of time during a busy week.

2. Free shipping (no minimum price)

This is one of the quietly added perks. Need one item? No problem. Did you forget something? Please order. There’s no minimum shipping charge, so you don’t have to overpurchase to qualify.

3. Save gas (even students can do it!)

If the student has a car, this is another helpful advantage.

Members save gas at participating stations, and even small savings per gallon can add up over a semester, especially when you factor in all the driving involved with school, work, and activities.

4. Streaming available (hello, study break)

Even college students need a break once in a while! walmart+student This includes access to streaming services, which can be a nice little bonus if you’re already paying for entertainment or looking for a way to relax without spending extra money.

5. Member-only sale + early access

This is one of its underrated benefits.

Members often receive benefits such as:

  • Early access to big sales
  • Limited discount
  • special promotion

This is especially useful during back-to-school and vacation times.

In addition to core benefits like delivery and delivery, Walmart+ Student also includes:

  • Mobile Scan & Go: This allows you to scan items when shopping in-store and check out instantly through the app, saving time and avoiding long lines.
  • Easy returns from home: Some items can be returned without going to the store, making the return process more convenient for members.

Each feature may seem small on its own, but together they can create a more convenient and cost-effective shopping experience for students.

Who is eligible for Walmart+ Student?

To sign up, you must be at least 18 years old and enrolled in college. You will also need to verify your student status (quick and easy online process). Once verified, your discount will remain for as long as you qualify.

Is Walmart+ Student worth using?

I think the answer depends less on the membership itself and more on how students actually shop and live their daily lives.

and walmart+student At about $49 per year (or about $6.47 per month), it’s already significantly lower than the standard membership price (about half off) while offering the same benefits.

But what really matters is whether the benefits are taken advantage of.

If your student:

  • Order groceries even a few times a month
  • Small items often need to be shipped quickly
  • I drive regularly and can take advantage of gas discounts.
  • Or, you’re already paying for a streaming service.

…It doesn’t take long for the savings to add up. Skipping just a few shipping and delivery charges can potentially cover the cost of an entire year’s membership.

Also, what I like is that this can prevent unintentional spending. If you’ve ever gone to the store for “little things,” you know that it’s very easy for extras to sneak into your cart. Ordering online (especially when you get free delivery or shipping charges) allows you to be a little more intentional, which will just save you money in the long run.

Really great student discount

University life is fulfilling. There are long days, schedule changes, and a lot to juggle. It would be great to have an easy way to get what we need without having to do another chore, make a decision, or spend time.

Walmart+ Student simplifies life for the right student in the right season and Save money. And in some cases, that combination may be exactly what you need.

How to sign up (takes minutes)

Getting started is easy:

  1. go here
  2. Check student status
  3. Start your free trial

that’s it! Have you ever tried Walmart+ or considered becoming a member? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
