There was a beautiful sense of unity and empowerment at the event last Saturday, but I know that it is just the beginning of our battle. We don’t need to look at every issue to unite in our country, our democracy, and our laws. Just in case you missed it last week This is the post Joe’s Cup provided a way to assist/participate in an easy and practical way. But as a design and lifestyle blog, we are also here to be a soft place to land. So, on happy news, Emily and Brian went to New York for the past few days to celebrate their 25th anniversary! It’s so wonderful to see two people who love each other so deeply and care about each other. They were together longer than they didn’t have! Pretty funny and cool 🙂 Link?

This week’s house tour Aly Michalka’s (pop rock sister duo Aly & AJ) Santa Barbara Home. It’s not your typical celebrity house tour. It’s packed full of warm, lively, meaningful memorabilia. She even has very “rags-like” kitchen curtains that we’re in quite a love interest. Check it out here!

From Emily: I’ve forgotten how much you walk in New York! I’m back to wearing These “long all day walking platform sandals” In New York this week. They are truly my favorite city walking shoes so I’m glad I bought them. I linked these last year and they’re still strong. I can wear them to walk for hours (if I’m really walking around town, I’d choose sneakers). However, if you want a certain height while still being comfortable, these “Dayspring” sorrels are superb. I’m wearing it again My Everlane Ballet Flat More than I thought – when heading to Time Square to watch a Broadway show, there’s a great night time to replace the heels and a bit more rush than the heels allow.

From Caitlin: I have a confession: I have broken my “shed or none” rule twice in the last 6 months – This Abercrombie dress (I should have never tried it! It was too flattering! I couldn’t put it back!) But the second was this $89 summer weight Everlane Jeans. My weight has fluctuated a lot over the past few years – I lost about 40 pounds without rhyme or reason – and in recent attempts I have revealed that all of my hard pants and belts are now too big. I needed dressy jeans and wanted to invest in the pair with a bit of stretch and a super classic silhouette, so I grabbed these on a whim. Very high rise that feels compressed (in a wonderful, cooperative way), a great shape at the rear, they are comfortable enough to sit all day long, lightweight enough to wear when the outside is 80 degrees, and the silhouette is the perfect percentage of the entire flare meat leg. This was my fifth pair of jeans in Everlane, and they were officially replaced by Madewell for me. Get your regular size! (It’s not just me – the reviews shine.)

Also from Caitlin: But I have one small business recommendation to balance that power! I wear these cools, Modernist, All-Leather Flip Flop Non-stop for the past few weeks. They’re only $68 (!!!), but they look much more expensive than the price. It takes seconds to get used to the sensations (your big toes are free!), but I walked a mile to a karaoke bar in Koreatown last weekend (and a mile before a mile before when I was clearly calm), and I had no issues. The brand has so many chic and fresh styles.

From Jess: There were no new products I confidently recommend this week, so it reminds me of what I’m already talking about and love (and it’s been a while). That product is My makeup brush cleanser “Shampoo”. Yes, it’s superb and very easy to use. I didn’t think I was a gal who regularly washes her makeup brushes, but I’m now. Wet the brush, throw a little cleanser or your hand, and massage it into your palm under running water before it becomes a boom! Beautiful brush:) It’s also under $5.69 and I promise you your makeup will get really good with a clean brush.

From Mallory: Last year I hooked these shorts with a dark blue wash (and then I cut them to make them a little shorter), and they’re still my favorite pair even after a year! I wore them so much and I got caught This year’s version With a light wash – I love the detailed pleats and the slightest width of the thighs. I know I’ll wear them more, so I plan on hemming them a little more, but the Bermuda cuts are also super cute!

From Arlyn: I have been using equally comfortable bathroom scales for over 10 years. Since I first acquired that scale, many new models have appeared on the market, with additional measurements and markers like body fat analysis and muscle mass. I was focusing on the (very expensive) fume body pods, but in reality I didn’t want to spend more than $200 on scale. So after some research I found WISE Ultraand so far, that’s great! There is a great app that is very easy to use, but it’s not necessary for operation (just to evaluate the results). Some reviews say that body fat metrics may not be very accurate, but honestly, I’m more interested in knowing how my body fat and muscle mass are trend You can feel better about your workout efforts, not about your rigorous measurements! For about $50, I’m very pleased with it.

From Gretchen: If you know anything about lotions, portions, and hand soaps, you definitely know about Assop. Now I’m not enough or rich enough to stock such luxury in my sink, but I’ve been talented recently so I might have to take a loan and start Eleos Body Cleanser & Hand Balm Duoand I’m obsessed! There’s something I’m obsessed with about this smell. It’s woodsea, but spa-like and completely aromatic, but not too faced. Hand cream is really amazing (and super moisturizing), but the body wash is the one that I’ll spend 100% on in the future. I simply can’t run out of things like this and won’t allow it. It makes my shower routine ten times more fun, and the best part is that it actually continues to smell in my body. It’s very good. I put this on my wish list for all my future birthdays and holidays – expensive, but worth it.

From Marlee: I’m about to start a whole room project. This means you need to start thinking about better storage options. As my room needs to function as both a bedroom and an office space (for two, that’s a pain), I’ll add some open shelves over my desk area to get as many things off the ground as possible. I found it These foldable storage boxes It has so many different color combinations, so I hooked up some to use as catch-all storage on the shelf – I want to have a pop of colour and am not a fan of the common generic storage containers of match matches. I’m very inspired to be organized (particularly after seeing Emily begin organizing her props, I’ll be coming soon about it…), and these are so fun and affordable.

Let’s stroll around a bit and see you tomorrow. xx
