This week I accidentally spent $167 more than I planned on groceries!!! Here’s what happened…

I went to Kroger yesterday to place a delivery order. When I went to checkout, they offered me some great deals called flash sales (these sales are usually available if you choose to have your order delivered from a Kroger delivery truck). products will be provided).

One of those deals involved roasts. Apparently it was $15.99. This is quite a bit more than I usually spend on meat for one meal, but since I had room in my budget I decided to splurge.

When I went to checkout, I was told my grocery total was $143. I was so excited because even though I had a lot of quality meat and other things, I was still under my weekly budget of $150.

However, this morning the groceries were delivered and the total cost was $315 instead of about $143 (which usually varies a little depending on whether everything was in stock or something needed to be substituted).

what? ! ?

I went to look at the groceries and discovered they gave me 10 1/2 pounds of roast for $15.99 per pound instead of the total cost of the roast being $15.99.

So the roast was $167, not $15.99 as I thought!

I didn’t want to pay $167 for a single roast, so I decided to live chat with a Kroger representative to see if there was anything I could do.

They asked me multiple questions and asked me to send a screenshot of the original total amount that was emailed to me after ordering for delivery.

I was hoping maybe they would give me some kind of refund.

Well, what do you think?

They asked me a series of questions and asked me to submit screenshots before giving me a full refund.

Yes, the full price is $167!! And I get to save the roast!!!!

This is just a reminder that there’s nothing wrong with asking questions. Please be kind. Please be polite. Don’t expect or demand it. However, be firm and confident and ask if you have been overcharged or if there is something wrong with your order.

I don’t know what will happen. You might be able to get a $167 roast completely free. (It feels strange to eat such expensive food, but I will do my best to eat it for as long as possible!)

PS I saw “Roast” in a flash sale ad. After receiving it, I realized that rib eye roast. I didn’t even know what this was (yes, you see I usually only buy cheap meat?) but apparently this is really great meat and cuts into steaks and makes it very tasty It seems possible. Now I have to be brave and find a way to cook a type of roast that I’ve never had before. I’ve heard that it’s not the type of thing you throw in a pot and bake like I usually roast.
