It’s been four years since Olivia Rodrigo released a new album, but the wait for her latest work is finally over. Her third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad For a Girl So in Love, is scheduled for release on June 12th on Geffen Records. Interestingly, unlike her previous albums Sour (2021) and Guts (2023), the album’s title is not a four-letter word. Olivia said in her newsletter, “No matter how hard I try to write love songs, they always end up being a little melancholic. I’m so proud of this record and can’t wait for everyone to hear it.” The album is available for pre-order now.

As with her first two albums, Olivia collaborated with producer Dan Nigro on this project. The announcement comes after months of teasers for new music, including cryptic hotline messages hinting at upcoming releases. The message referenced this year’s Pink Moon, which occurred on April 2nd, urging fans to “trust your intuition” and promising “true clarity and rebirth” after the moon. Olivia recently paid tribute to Magnetic Fields’ ‘The Book of Love’ with the charity compilation ‘HELP(2)’, supporting War Child UK alongside artists including Arctic Monkeys, Cameron Winter, Depeche Mode and Wet Legs.

In December 2025, she released Live at Glastonbury (BBC Recording), a double LP capturing her remarkable year touring the festival circuit. The following month, she celebrated the fifth anniversary of her smash hit “Driver’s License” by releasing a cover version featuring her friend David Byrne, which she performed at Governor’s Ball.
