Petco Vital Care is a loyalty program for pet owners that offers shopping rewards on Petco Stores through Petco.com or the Petco app. Vital Care members have access to digital tools such as reminders to purchase pet food and set up appointments for veterinarians and grooming.

The first layer, Vital Care Core, is You can participate for free You will receive the following benefits:

Vital Care Premier
Vital Care Premier is a paid membership class. A single cat or dog costs $24.99 per month, and a bird, fish, reptile, or a small pet costs $9.99 per month. Cats and dog owners who choose to pay an annual rate will receive a 20% discount on their membership.

- Dogs and cats receive a critical care reward of $20 for unlimited routine veterinary exams at Vetco Total Care, or up to two routine exams performed by non-Petco veterinarians.

How Petco’s Vital Care works
Earn rewards
Earn points when you spend online, in the store, or through the Petco app. You can spend $5 important care rewards for every 167 points you earn. Paid members of the Vital Care Premier membership receive important care fees of $15 (dog and cat plans) or $5 (for small pets such as fish or guinea pigs) per month. To keep your rewards active, you must purchase from Petco every 90 days.

Repayment of rewards
You can redeem your rewards when you purchase in stores, online, or through the Petco app. For online and app purchases, you can easily apply available rewards to the Edit Payments section of the checkout process. If the reward does not cover the full purchase, the remaining balance will be applied to the selected credit or debit card.
For in-store purchases, please provide the cashier with the Vital Care number or phone number or email associated with your Vital Care Rewards account.
There are some caveats to keep in mind when redeeming Petco Vital Care rewards. As $5 cannot be partially redeemed, the purchase must be at least $5. Additionally, the reward expires 30 days after receiving for a valid Care Core member.

Is the Petco Vital Care program free?
Vital Care Core membership tiers are free to participate, but Vital Care Premier Tier offers a monthly fee of $24.99 for dogs or cats and $9.99 for other small pets (birds, reptiles, fish, guinea pigs, hamsters, etc.). If you commit to a year-long Vital Care Premier membership at sign-up, it will cost $239.88 for dogs and cats (20% less than the monthly total interest rate) and $119.88 for small pets.
How do I make sure I’m earning a reward for each Petco purchase?
To confirm your credit every time your Vital Care Rewards account purchases a Petco, you must first provide an important care number. If you are in a store, you can use the Petco Mobile app to find out the number and pass it on to your sales representative. If you don’t have your number on hand, it’s fine! Provide the cashier with the phone number or email address you used to join Vital Care and they can look up you like that.
If you shop online, you can automatically earn credits to your account by logging in to your account before checking out.
To keep your account active, you must purchase something from Petco at least once every 90 days. Once you receive the reward, it will be spent within 30 (Vital Care Core) or 45 (Vital Care Premier) days or expire.
How can I know the number of important care reward points I have?
Log in to your account online or check the “Accounts” section of the Petco app. The balance is also included at the top of the Vital Care reward email you receive.
What veterinary services are covered by the Petco Vital Care Premier program?
With membership, you will receive unlimited routine veterinary exams for PETs registered with Vetco Total Care Locations. No additional testing, medication or services are covered. You can also use your profits to earn $20 Vital Care Rewards on up to two veterinary exams per year through your preferred veterinarian.
I would like to emphasize that this benefit is not pet insurance. The attached veterinary services only cover the cost of the “regular wellness test” exam.
How do I cancel my Petco Vital Care Premier membership?
When you sign up for Petco Vital Care Premier, you have a 12-month commitment that you will be billed each month. Every year, your membership is automatically renewed for another year. If you wish to cancel, call Petco at 858-657-2035, access your Vital Care Premier membership online, or visit the Petco app to stop automatic updates. You still need to pay annually before your membership ends.
What is the difference between Petco Vital Care Rewards and Petco Pay credit cards?
Vital Care is a loyalty program that rewards members with savings and other benefits. This is not the same as the company’s silent every year. Petco Pay Credit Card. Being a credit card holder will enhance your important care benefits. Earn two points for every dollar spent at Petco or a grocery store, and one point for every $3 spent elsewhere.
Being a cardholder also offers a $25 Vital Care Rewards gift (if you spend $500 outside of Petco within the first 90 days of receiving your card) and a one-year extension of the Vital Care Rewards balance. Plus, you can actually arrange to turn your animal face to your card!
