It’s been a busy week for celebrity power couple Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin. On April 17th, we responded to a home invasion at a $2 million property in Hollywood. The “Suite Life” star effectively neutralized the situation. Tackle the intruder and point a gun at him Until the police arrived. Understandably, Sprouse looked a little disheveled and stunned a few days later, but thanks to a $60 blazer he bought at Walmart, he was able to make it back in time for the red carpet at the world premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2.
In what turned out to be two of the most creative sartorial mashups of the night, Sprouse and Palvin rocked head-to-toe looks courtesy of several of the megastore’s affordable clothing collections. The first was a limited-edition “The Devil Wears Prada 2” collaboration with Walmart’s own in-house label Scoop, and the second came courtesy of Brandon Maxwell, the celebrity designer behind the Free Assembly clothing capsule that put the couple on notice. Palvin’s look can best be described as straddling the line between “editorial chic” and “office siren.” An appropriate aesthetic choice, considering that the second part of this iconic film still focuses on the inner workings of Priestley’s Runway Magazine. The focal point that tied it all together was Palvin’s navy blazer, which she wore unbuttoned for her single-breasted hourglass figure. Below, Walmart’s “The Devil Wears Prada Lace-up Cotton Shirt” was unveiled. This is a 100% cotton piece that supplements the stretchy fabric of the blazer with breathable fabric. If Palvin had decided to act without hiding, she would have revealed the distinguishing features of the item. The corset-inspired lace-up design on the back resembles the dolphin hem of a shirt, making it a more fashion-forward wardrobe addition than your average button-up.
Palvin extends her feminine-meets-formal line with a premiere outfit that could just be ours favorite Choose from our scoop collection. The $39 fringe skirt, which is running out of sizes as we speak, references the traditional salsa skirt style. A snakeskin-print slingback served as the top (ahem, bottom), while the comfort-optimized insole featured “The Devil Wears Prada 2” branding.
All in all, Palvin’s camera-enabled product cost just under $170. Meanwhile, the heroic beauty turned heads wearing a $64 blazer from Free Assembly’s first men’s suit line (which features practical details like button cuffs and hip pockets, but sticks to a versatile black hue) and matching tailored pants from the label. Would you believe me if I told you it was only $34? Menswear looked perfect for Sprouse as he navigated step-and-repeat and posed outside Lincoln Center with his wife. Whether you’re taking the pants and blazer to a destination wedding or a Friday date night (upscale version), you can be sure that this outfit will do an equally great job of matching your style.

At the event in question, the film’s cast and A-list fans alike sported expensive threads from fashion houses like Louis Vuitton, Givenchy (read: Meryl Streep’s cape), Schiaparelli, Sprouse, and Palvin, but the unconventional, Walmart-influenced styling was nothing short of refreshing.
Their ensembles were in line with the global premiere’s dress code, illustrating the important point that you don’t have to pay a lot of money to look sharp and put together.
