I stuff my white button-ups into them for work and put them in conversation with my color-happy adidas Gazelles on the weekends. Abercrombie & Fitch High-Rise ’90s Relaxed Jeans
After getting these babies personalized with my initials, you better believe I wore them everywhere this past winter — to the point of forgoing outfit switches when attending post-work cocktail receptions, given just how dressy Abercrombie’s High-Rise ’90s Relaxed Jeans can look once matched with a sharp-shouldered blazer and your go-to slingback heels. Heavier than most other jeans I have in my weekly rotation, this pair is nonetheless one of the comfiest: due in no small part to the way it eases through the thigh, generating a relaxed yet structured appearance.
At the end of the day, the jeans can still be classified as “straight-leg,” and I’m perhaps most drawn to their butt-hugging action (making the Abercrombie release a sexy springtime nonnegotiable). Good news: Khloé Kardashian and Emma Grede’s circa-2016 denim brand Good American, which prides itself on inclusive sizing, sustainability, and top-tier quality, is sold at Anthropologie. When it comes to shopping at the viral retailer, I’m a The Colette Wide-Leg Jeans girlie through and through, but these tiger-printed marvels are encouraging me to make the switch to more exotic and endearingly eccentric denim (the spring season, and all of its accompanying energy, demands nothing less). Some straight-legs go straight starting at the hip, others at the thigh, and some can even start at the knee. It’s an easy transition to make if you were [once] a skinny-jean wearer.”
