Wondering if a water park is suitable for non-swimmers?
There is a dedicated play area for small children, and parents are welcome to join in as well. The indoor wave pool has three levels, which may be a bit much for young children. The outdoor pool is more relaxing and perfect for all ages.
My stylish buddy Chelsea also loves the River Canyon Run at Great Wolf Lodge in Arizona. It’s a family-friendly ride with gentle curves and bright colors, and even her youngest son was able to join in the fun.
hip tip: If you plan to stay until the water park closes on your check-out date, please be sure to leave your room by 11 AM and leave your luggage at the front desk or in your car.
Pack a change of clothes in a small bag, bring it to the water park, and store it in a locker (available for rent). Showers and hairdryers are also available in the water park.
And don’t miss out on the prizes…

- Free wolf ears: Get a free wolf ear headband in the gift shop. It makes a fun souvenir for the whole family.
- Free activities on site: Participate in dance parties, storytimes, crafts, and more. Board games are also available at the front desk.
- Shutterfly giveaways: Check out the Shutterfly promo card in your room for a free travel photo book.

Our buddy Chelsea and her family love to travel to Great Wolf every year (for the third year onwards).
As a Disney fan myself, I have countless core memories of Disneyland from my childhood, and I feel like I’m an expert on magical experiences 😉. So we can confidently say that Great Wolf Lodge offers families a truly magical experience on a small, budget-friendly, yet unforgettable scale.
Our recent trip was the best yet! It started with an amazing staff member who was extremely efficient and helpful with one of our issues, and ended with countless hours of fun (I think my kids are still catching up on their sleep! LOL). I never get tired of the water park itself, but I will never go back without getting a kids pass. MagiQuest kept kids entertained and awestruck for hours. Plus, all three kids were able to share and participate in the magic even though they only had one wand.
I don’t know how Great Wolf Lodge does it, but somehow this layout was perfect for a little relaxation (and separation 😆) for parent and child, even in a small hotel room. The kids had their own “room” including a TV, but best of all, the “bunk bed suite” had three beds, one for each child.
We can’t say enough great things about Great Wolf Lodge, but just know that the water is always the perfect temperature, the lines are never “too long” and there’s plenty to do for kids of all ages. I recommend this trip to every family at least once. ❤️
