Have you ever wondered if there’s something you forget about your budget? If so, you’re not alone! (PS! Do I need to set a budget? free budgeting spreadsheet Let’s get started! )

I recently I conducted a survey among my IG followers. About common items that people may forget to budget for. They came up with a huge list of great ideas!!

health care

  1. Insurance copayment amount
  2. prescription
  3. hair cut
  4. vitamins and supplements
  5. Pet medicine and veterinary visits
  6. Dental and orthodontic work (which can really take a toll on a lot of kids!)
  7. Home medical supplies (bandages, gauze, over-the-counter medications)

vehicle

  1. Irregular maintenance (new brakes, rotors, AC, etc.)
  2. oil change
  3. new tires
  4. vehicle inspection
  5. tax
  6. License and registration fees
  7. car wash membership
  8. Savings for buying a new car

children and family

  1. school supplies
  2. gift for teacher
  3. Equipment or fees for hobbies
  4. Sports fees and equipment
  5. music lessons and instruments
  6. Tickets for sports/music events and concerts
  7. Money for a hot lunch and special snacks
  8. back to school shopping
  9. kids activities
  10. enjoy with family
  11. family trip
  12. university funds

Holidays and special events

  1. Christmas decorations & wrapping supplies
  2. christmas present
  3. christmas card shipping
  4. family photo session
  5. Hosting (in addition to your regular grocery budget)
  6. Anniversary and birthday outings/special meals

  1. home repair
  2. Replacing home appliances
  3. new plants and flowers
  4. felling of trees
  5. irrigation repair
  6. natural disaster

  8. Save for a major home purchase, such as a new roof, HVAC, or septic system.

  3. Annual subscriptions (Amazon Prime, Netflix, various software programs, online courses)
  4. Inflation of what you are saving (it becomes more expensive by the time you save enough)

What I would like to recommend to you is Clarify your financial goals after that Set a simple budget To keep track of everything. After setting your budget, go through this list to make sure you haven’t forgotten anything important to you.
