Actress Regina Hall recently stopped by to talk about celebrating her Oscar-winning film and reuniting with the iconic Wayans family in her new film. scary movieand the unforgettable audition that launched one of her most beloved roles.

She is returning to Hollywood’s biggest night after previously co-hosting the ceremony with fellow comedians Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes. After the awards ceremony, Regina attended the star-studded Vanity Fair afterparty to celebrate the film’s success and mingle with some of the biggest names in the industry.
The conversation then turned to his long-awaited return. scary movie franchise. Regina said she was thrilled to be reunited with the Wayans brothers and many of the original cast members, and felt it was the perfect time to bring laughter back to movie theaters.
“I’m very happy that Wayans has the franchise back,” she said. “It felt like a good time for comedy and for people to laugh together again.”
While Regina joked that the paycheck certainly didn’t hurt, she admitted that the real draw was reconnecting with the cast and revisiting a project that has remained a fan favorite for more than 20 years.

“I didn’t even know if I was going to get the role,” Regina admitted. “I had been turned down for so many jobs that I thought, ‘At least I have a chance to audition for Keenen.'”
Most of all, she just wanted to make him laugh, and she did. That audition ultimately led to the iconic portrayal of Brenda Meeks, a character that became one of the series’ most memorable characters.
