Even in her retirement, many still recognize Serena as one of the legends of tennis. During her time on court, Williams won 39 Grand Slam titles, 23 in singles, 14 in women’s doubles, and two in mixed doubles. She also won 73 career singles titles, 23 doubles titles, and four Olympic gold medals. Additionally, for her many accomplishments as an athlete, Serena Williams recently won the Princess of Asturias Award for Sports in Northern Spain and met with the royal couple.
It was an exciting day, and Williams looked absolutely gorgeous! To accept the prestigious award, Serena stunned in a sultry red dress. At the ceremony, she turned heads in Rouge’s Gaurav Gupta design.
Ms Williams took to the social media platform Instagram to express her feelings and gratitude for this latest honor. she says:It is a great honor to receive the Princess of Asturias Award for Sports in Northern Spain. This award has been presented to many outstanding individuals over the years and it is truly humbling to be recognized as part of that legacy. Thank you to everyone who supported me on and off the court”
To empathize with Serena’s feelingscity and country Williams also explained the significance of the award he just received. of The journal revealed that
“The award, presented by Princess Leonor (also known as the Princess of Asturias), heir to the Spanish throne, has been bestowed upon many notable figures over the years. Previous recipients include Rafael Nadal (who was recently given the noble title by the Spanish Royal Family), Eliud Kipchoge, Lindsey Vonn and Carl Lewis, among others.”

“With an undisputed record of accomplishments, she is considered one of the greatest tennis players in the history of the sport, winning 73 singles titles, including 23 Grand Slams and four Olympic gold medals,” the jury noted. “In addition to her extraordinary sports career and competitive spirit, Serena Williams has always been a strong advocate of equality and equal opportunity between men and women, both in sports and in society in general.”
In addition to being at the Campoamor Theater to attend the 2025 Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony. Selena also had the opportunity to meet members of the Spanish Royal Family during the 2025 Princess of Asturias Laureate Reception held at the Hotel de la Reconquista. On this special occasion, Williams once again became a fashion queen. Serena wore a white open knit Elie Saab dress.
