Do you tend to wait until the last moment to get things done? Do you feel stressed at the mere thought of doing a particular task? Or do you struggle with organization and delegation? If so , this article will help you. Here are 10 strategies to help you solve a common problem: how to stop procrastinating.

First of all, is this a problem for you? Understand that you are not alone. This is an area that many people need to work on and improve.

In fact, the American Psychological Association mentions“Approximately 20% of adults are identified as chronic procrastinators.A broader study found that 42.6% of adults procrastinate frequently or daily20.5% reported it as a daily problem. Only 15.6% of adults claim they never procrastinate. ”

For those of us still in school, this can be an even bigger challenge. Research shows that approximately 50% of college students are consistent and chronic procrastinators, 75% consider themselves to be procrastinators, and 80% to 95% of college students have a tendency to procrastinate. The answer is yes.

How not to procrastinate

So what can you do? There are two main things to fix time management and plan properly. No matter how big or small your task is, you don’t have to do it all at once. By doing little things every day, you can get to where you want to be.

Think of it like doing a puzzle. Yes, you can sit down and do it all at once. Or you can do a little bit each day. If you want to do more, you can. If not, just work on one section for the day. Eventually you’ll complete the entire puzzle and enjoy the satisfaction of seeing the final result. And the most beautiful and satisfying part is that I was able to do it without any stress. You completed the task at a steady and consistent pace.

The above example perfectly illustrates how time management and proper planning work. You decide how many tasks you complete each day. If you can do all that, great. Even if you don’t, by doing something you’ve made progress towards achieving your goal.

Here are some other great tips.

  • Make your daily to-do list manageable and realistic
  • Break down large projects into smaller tasks
  • Eliminate things that encourage laziness
  • Minimize distractions around you
  • Reward yourself for getting things done
  • Give tasks a time limit
  • Spend no more than 1-2 hours at a time on each project or class
  • Divide your daily study: Study a little bit of each subject each day so you don’t fall too far behind any class.
  • Create a 5-day study plan.
  • Factors enter daily life
  • do one thing at a time
  • Tackle the difficult things first
  • Take advantage of the 2-minute rule: If you are faced with a task that can be completed within 2 minutes, you should do it immediately instead of postponing it or adding it to your to-do list.
