Hidden in Chattahoochee’s food pieces, Latropical A lively celebration of Puerto Rican, Cuban and Latin cuisine, quickly transported to the Caribbean. Concept created by famous celebrity chefs Roberto Trevinho And revived by talented people Chef Minel Amadoroffering a menu that is soaked in authenticity, warmth and bold flavours. From classics like Cuban sandwiches, Bacarites, Mophongo, Carnefrita, Aros Compolo and Lopavieja, all dishes feel like a love letter to the island.
I was recently invited to a special dining experience. There, the curated four-course menu was paired with playful cocktails that perfectly match each dish. The evening began with a beautiful pairing with a refreshing guavamojito, with mini pork belly empanadas and ropavieja topped with rich Caribbean sauce. The second course, the golden mophongo ball crowned with garlic aziryo shrimp, was brightened by instant favorite tangy passion fruit cocktail.
On the third course, chef Amador served Pastel de Cañe, a sweet plantain lasagna layered with flavoured meat accompanied by classic Cuban libre. This dish was outstanding for me, which was comforting, original and absolutely delicious. The fourth course brought a hearty plate of Linri Rice and Yuca along with salsa mojo paired with soft skirt steak and creamy pina colada cocktail. To finish off, silky coffee flan with a splash of Koquito provided the perfect sweet ending.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere was just as warm and charming. The staff were lively and charming, but the elegant personality of chef Amador was shining as he guided us through the course with authentic pride and joy.
Latropical is not just a restaurant, it’s an experience. From cocktails to flavorful dishes, it is a culinary journey through Latin heritage, filled with celebration, welcoming and hearts. If you visit, don’t miss out on the sweet plantain lasagna and it’s unforgettable. And for a non-dlinker like me, the passion cocktail was a refreshing surprise.
