KiKi Palmer brings chaos, comedy, and haute couture to life in her highly entertaining new heist movie, I Love Boosters, and audiences are loving it. The film has already generated a lot of buzz with an impressive 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and Keke recently stopped by Good Morning America to talk about the film, her scene-stealing character, and the deeper message hidden beneath all the fun.

In the film, Keke stars as Corvette, the fearless leader of a stylish gang of shoplifters known as the Velvet Gang. She cheerfully explained that a “booster” is basically a “petty shoplifter” who steals high-end fashion items and resells them at a discount. Corvette and her crew come into conflict with the owner of a high-end designer store, played by Kristen Stewart, and begin a strange and chaotic journey filled with fashion, rebellion, and sisterhood.

Keke couldn’t stop raving about the film’s strong cast, which includes Taylor Russell, Poppy Liu, Eiza Gonzalez, and Naomi Ackie. She also praised director Boots Riley for blending meaningful social commentary with over-the-top entertainment, similar to Sorry to Bother You.

During the interview, Keke made everyone laugh by admitting that he may have “enhanced” a few comfortable wardrobe warmers from movie sets over the years, including hoodies, sweatpants, and Uggs, which are usually given to actors between scenes. According to Keke, once worn, it officially becomes hers. lol.

But behind the humor, Keke revealed: i love booster Explore deeper conversations about fashion, values, and culture. Her character believes that the trends sold in luxury stores are inspired by people like her and her friends, but are often priced from the very culture they helped create. That sense of tension is one of the film’s biggest themes.

Keke also reflected on her beginnings in the fashion industry, reminding fans that she once played the role of teenage fashion industry executive Vice President True Jackson at just 15 years old. She shared how young viewers still approach her, saying the Nickelodeon series inspired her to pursue a career in fashion, business, and even politics.

Adding a new creative layer to the project, Keke revealed that he has also recorded music inspired by the film and released a companion EP. She explained that Boots Riley’s daughter, Alina, wrote the song inspired by Corvette’s real name, Cassandra, and that its emotional lyrics touched her so deeply that she came up with the idea for the entire soundtrack experience. Keke said he wanted the music to feel like a classic movie soundtrack from the early 2000s, fully immersing the audience in the world of the film.

And because Keke always entertains us, that conversation even became a mini-campaign for Sister Act 3. She revealed that she’s in talks with Whoopi Goldberg about finally reviving the popular series, and called Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit one of those rare sequels that might have been better than the original.

By the end of the interview, Keke looked surprisingly cordial and explained what she liked most about it. i love booster is a message about self-worth, gratitude, and the realization that everything you really need is already within you. Leave it to Kiki Palmer to make you laugh, think, and inspire.
