About Funny Feelings
Nick and Zoe have been best friends since their college days at HBCUs, bonding over their love of comedy and chemistry. Years later, Zoe is a popular podcast star and Nick tours the U.S. as a stand-up band, but it’s their signature duo act that has built their brand and made fans fall in love with their “Are They Aren’t They” dynamic. Think Country Wayne meets Lou Young III and B. Lin, with the nerve and timing of Brown Sugar’s Taye Diggs and Sanaa Lathan.
Their relationship is complex, charming, flirtatious, and emotionally loaded. But behind the virus lies a mess of mixed signals, lapses in timing, and emotions that neither side has fully named. Nick and Zoe have always danced around their emotions, using ambiguity as part of their act, but when old wounds and rivalries resurface and threaten their momentum, they are forced to confront what’s wrong, what’s real, and what was just a moment.
At stake is a long-distance relationship, a surprise marriage proposal, and ultimately a massive Jester Stream special that forces buried truths to the surface, causing explosions on stage and spreading across the internet. Their raw confessions cut deeper than punch lines, and their professional dreams are shaken as social media turns their heartbreaks into clickbait.
In the end, Nick and Zoe must confront what they’ve been avoiding all along: their fear of love, the price of weakness, and the truth that perhaps the greatest performance of their lives was pretending they weren’t in love all along.
