When exposing myths and lifting the lid of how and why “dark skin” is unique! Professional makeup artist Bolanle Okusanya Feyita.

The key distinctive factors for dark skin are:

  • Thick skin texture
  • Uneven pigmentation
    Increase in melanin pigment
Advanced natural protection from sun damage
Improved elasticity = fewer visible signs of aging
Increased chances of keloids and permanent wounds

Common myths are not masked

All of the dark skin is an oily lie!

Like all races, there are several variations in skin types and textures.

Each individual’s skin is a fake one shade!

It is not uncommon for nature to give two or three shades to the face of a black woman. Often, the center of the face has a more fairer complexion combined with darker shades around the hairline, mouth and neck.

The tone of your skin remains the same for life!

Tones often change over time in an individual due to aging combined with diet, weather and hormonal fluctuations.

black Your skin doesn’t need sunscreen!

Black increases the melanin pigment, which provides protection from sun damage, but it is still important to receive additional protection after level 15, especially if the UV index is high.

All black skin foundations are the same false!

Like a mainstream foundation. The dark foundation has a distinctive red or yellow skin undertone. Some people have a clear one or the other, many have a combination in different proportions.

The black doesn’t break truth!

Black women don’t need to worry about strains or wrinkles, but the skin can show aging with signs of pigmentation and drooping skin, so try anti-establishment.
