“When my dad passed away in 2022, I wanted to get a tattoo to celebrate him,” she explained. At first, she thought about getting an autograph or maybe buying a stopwatch since she always wore one. But when she saw the shrimp cocktail, she knew it was perfect.
“My father is obsessed With shrimp,” she said. “If it was on the menu, he would order it. Whenever we went to a buffet, that was all he ate. His plate was a shrimp plate. Shrimp cocktail, popcorn. Shrimp, coconut shrimp…the guy loved shrimp.”

“People ask me about my tattoos all the time, so I get to talk about my dad, which feels good,” Alison says. “Right now I’m thinking about what tattoo I’m going to get for someone I love. It’s a fun exercise. I even ask the question at parties! People come up with really interesting answers.”
