The Best New Holiday Movies of 2025

This year, I think it’s most fulfilling to include watching all of 2025’s best new holiday movies on every to-do list. (And I’m feeling ambitious. Let’s set a deadline before New Year’s Eve.) While everyone else is attending holiday parties, working on their winter TBR lists, and finishing their Christmas shopping, I’m happily hibernating indoors. You can see me curled up on the couch in my childhood home, wrapped in a blanket, pressing play on the movie over and over again. These movies definitely give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Is anyone here for movie night on holiday?

Let me paint an even clearer picture of my ideal Christmas weekend. Fuzzy socks, endless amounts of hot chocolate, and yes, staying in my pajamas all day. A heist movie with a holiday twist? Don’t say too much! If you’re looking for a break from holiday romantic comedies, jingle bell robbery Looks like the perfect antidote. Olivia Holt and Connor Swindells play a retail worker and a mechanic who rob a trendy London department store on Christmas Eve. this movie is not completely Ditch the holiday romance, though, because there’s definitely some chemistry between these two.

If you grew up watching the Disney Channel single-camera sitcom JONAS or just love the Jonas Brothers, then the Jonas Brothers Christmas movie will be music to your ears. The setting couldn’t be simpler (or more fun, let’s be real), as the boys face hilarious setbacks as they try to head home for the holidays after a concert in London.

Alicia Silverstone and Melissa Joan Hart? Calm my millennial mind! Kate (Silverstone), trying to make it through one more Christmas with her kids before divorcing, runs into trouble when her ex-husband (Oliver Hudson) brings in a new girlfriend (Jameela Jamil). Rest assured, there’s plenty of eccentric characters, over-the-top perversity, and holiday romance.

my secret santa giving Mrs. Doubtfire, Just the opposite with a holiday twist. I’m here for that! Alexandra Breckenridge plays a single mother who books a job at an upscale ski resort to pay for her daughter’s snowboarding lessons. The twist? My job is to play Santa…dress as a man. Things get complicated (and hilarious) when she falls in love with the hotel manager and has to keep her identity as the ski lodge Santa a secret.

Swifties, don’t worry. This movie isn’t just a very sad story about a man getting on a train after rejecting a marriage proposal (IYKYK). A holiday love story set in Paris! Minka Kelly plays Sidney, an American executive who travels to France to seal a deal with her company’s luxury champagne brand. The founder’s son turns out to be very dreamy and has a charming French accent, so naturally a whirlwind romance ensues.

Some might say Lacey Chabert is the queen of Hallmark Christmas movies, so it’s a big deal to know that a new holiday movie is in the works very exciting. Chabert plays Isabelle, a top consultant in Santa’s new Naughty & Nice group. This group is a consulting firm tasked with helping Santa decide on his naughty and nice list. But things go awry when Isabel falls in love with the widowed father of a mischievous daughter.

There’s no one who doesn’t like a fresh interpretation. Christmas carol? In this version, Ebenezer Scrooge becomes Ella Niezer, a workaholic CEO who is visited by three ghosts on an overnight flight to Australia on Christmas Eve. In the classic story, Scrooge loses his girlfriend Belle, but in this version he has an unexpected encounter with Ella’s ex-boyfriend, and I believe that with the magic of Christmas, Ella might rekindle this relationship.

Joy to the World

Joy Edwards (Emmanuel Chriqui), a lifestyle guru and cookbook author, lives a picture-perfect life. But her world changes when a television network decides to film a Christmas dinner at her home. Hijinks ensue when she adopts her best friend (Chad Michael Murray) to be her on-screen husband. Possibly a nod to the 1945 film christmas in connecticut, Joy to the World is the quintessential romantic comedy, with a perfect blend of comedy and romance.

Tyler Perry’s Finding Joy

Being stranded in the middle of a Colorado winter and being rescued by a man living in a cabin with no internet access could be the beginning of a horror movie. But in the very capable hands of Tyler Perry, it’s also the beginning of a fun holiday rom-com. Joy (Shannon Thorton), a down-and-out fashion designer living in New York, travels to Colorado to pursue her boyfriend and spend the holidays with her family. A blizzard leaves her stranded, but her rescuer Ridge (Tosin Morofunfola) unexpectedly falls in love with her.

family plan The sequel is out! Mark Wahlberg returns as father and former assassin Dan Morgan. His past comes back to life when he vacations with his family in Europe. When I see this franchise, it reminds me of incredible, and game of thrones Fans will be happy to see Kit Harington portrayed as the bad guy. An action-packed holiday adventure for the whole family.

It has been more than ten years since the first event, Preparation and landing First premiered in 2009, Santa’s elves, Lanny and Wayne, are back. This time, the two are assigned a holiday mission that goes awry, leaving the elves worried about disappointing their boss (Santa Claus, of course) on the most important day of the year.
