If you’re like me, winter tends to take a toll on your body. By the time spring approaches, you’ll want to spend more time outside (without bundling up to your eyeballs), you’ll be craving more social outings, and you’ll want to open the windows and welcome some fresh air into your home.

Perhaps you, my friend, feel the same way. Perhaps you, too, are feeling the seasonal changes in yourself, your relationships, your daily life, and yourself. house. April is just around the corner and it’s no wonder you’re feeling the charm.

Today we’re sharing eight quick and easy spring decorating ideas that will give your home a seasonal refresh.

Budget-friendliness is key here, and while some ideas require a minimal budget, others require a little creativity. Go ahead and try one or two of them out for yourself.

1. Replace some textiles.

Switching up a textile or two for spring is one way to make a difference, both in terms of visual change and increased comfort in warm weather.

Light fabrics like linen and cotton are perfect for spring and summer, and there are no shortage of ideas for updating your textiles accordingly. Below are some suggestions.

2. Let’s say it together: Add plants!

Ah, plants. At W&D, we love them both for the way they look and the joy and stress relief we get from watching them grow. Since spring is the beginning of the growing season for these indoor beauties, we think it’s also the ideal time to add another plant friend (or several) to your home.

If you’re reaching the limits of your current plant cultivation, consider switching to your current variety for a refresh. placement in the house (depending on your lighting needs, of course) or Replant in a new planterif the market has new soil and room to grow a little more.

3. Replace the rug.

A rug can change the entire look of a room by acting as a framework or foundation for a space. While we don’t by any means recommend replacing every rug in your home when the seasons change, there are a few ways you can use your rug to make an impact come spring.

  • Try swapping rugs from room to room, putting a rug from your living room in your bedroom or vice versa. No financial commitment is required here. Moving the furniture will only cause a few drops of sweat to accumulate.
  • If you have a patterned rug and want something simpler, spring may be the perfect time to replace it with a versatile, neutral rug, like a sisal or jute rug. Kate has and loves it. This sisal rug!
  • Consider getting rid of your rug completely in preparation for the upcoming warmer months. (You can always add it back if you change your mind!) Or, if you have stacks of rugs in a particular room, consider removing the top rug and letting the bottom one shine on its own.

4. Add your artwork.

While it is true that no While changing seasons means replacing all the art you own, it doesn’t hurt to include one new piece that reminds you of spring. Whether you buy pieces from a local artist, second-hand from a thrift store or marketplace, or make your own, there are many ways to add fresh, eye-pleasing pieces to your walls.

If you decide to bring in this new piece of art, why not display it in a place you often pass by in your daily life? That way you can get the most enjoyment out of it.

5. Refresh your entryway.

As the seasons change, so do our needs for entrances, especially for those of us who live in places with four seasons. Coat racks are no longer needed to hang bulky winter clothing, thick doormats are no longer needed to collect salty snowy boots as you walk through the door, and bins are less important for collecting hats and mittens.

There’s no need to leave winter remnants at your front door all spring and summer. Instead, keep your winter coats and accessories out of sight and out of mind, and replace them with a light jacket, baseball cap, and an umbrella or two for those inevitable rainy days. Also keep your thick doormats and consider replacing them with doormats. thin decorative rug (If that’s up your alley and (depending on your budget).

6. Incorporate colorful accent pieces.

Winter is known for its moody, jewel-toned hues, while spring is known for its pastel colors, followed by summer for its bright, colorful accents. Even if you’re a diehard fan of neutrals, consider incorporating small pops of color in accents like pillowcases, lamps, and vases. glassware set For everyday use.

There are some proven ways to bring these beauties into your home. I can assure you that if you don’t want that, you don’t have to go through the expensive effort.

  • Please enjoy making your own arrangements. There is no right or wrong way, but remember that diversity is your friend here. Experiment with different heights, flower types, and fillers until you create one you like.

Like many of you, I live in a country where purchasing decisions are driven by budget. While it’s nice to incorporate new items from time to time, it’s safe to say that decorating doesn’t always fit into your monthly budget. Welcome to the world of sorting.

Move existing artwork from one room to another. Change the mood by moving the lamp that is usually in the living room to the bedroom. Try placing a stack of books somewhere new, such as on top of another piece of furniture or on the floor with a plant.

Even if nothing on this list suits your home, we encourage you to try this last idea. And whatever you do, enjoy In the process of sorting. Sometimes a slight change in position can give us the updated perspective we’ve been looking for.
