Use a bold red marker to label multiple sides of every box containing delicate items with the words “Fragile” and “This Way Is Better.” Clear labeling prevents well-meaning friends and movers from mistakenly treating a box of vintage glassware like a box of heavy-duty winter blankets.
When loading your vehicle, avoid placing these delicate boxes at the bottom of heavy stacks. Tuck it tightly between soft objects, such as a bag of clothing or a stuffed pillow, to prevent it from slipping out when your car makes a sharp turn or hits a pothole.
