I’ve been working from home for nearly 10 years and if there’s one thing that remains the same, it’s this. The smallest details make the biggest difference. It’s time for the candles illuminating the desk to focus. A proper notebook will keep your priorities straight when your day is blurry. A supportive chair or laptop stand can completely change the way you feel your body after a long day.

The best essentials at home aren’t just about being productive. They help you feel more focused, supported and (dare I say) a little romantic about your desk. A setup that supports your body, induces creativity and helps you move your “work mode” in and out more easily.

So whether you’re doing consecutive zoom calls, working on long writing sessions, or trying to carve out space for movement and hydration, these are essentials from home that I swear. They have carried me remotely for many years, and they are as functional as they are beautiful. Think of a toolkit to help you feel inspired, support your wellness, and create a workspace that will make working from home more enjoyable.

For focus and creativity

Dawn candle

There’s something about lighting a candle that lights the brain. It’s time to concentrate. I love the Casasma Daybreak Candles smell like the ground. It’s like a ritual to start my work with the right notes.

Moleskine Classic Notebook

I’ve been using this exact notebook for years and can’t imagine it would work without it. Square pages are perfect for weekly priorities and daily listings, and are the only planners that actually stick to you. I’ll fill one and start another soon.

Vision board on the desk

The mine is originally from Casasma and reminds me of the big paintings every day. When the deadline feels overwhelming, I glimpse at my board and use it as an emotional anchor when the day is overwhelming, based on what I really aim for.

For health and movement

Hand weights for walks and desk breaks

Store light weights near the desk. You can narrow down the movements during meetings and walk quickly. When you sit for most of the day, a small amount of movement can go a long way.

Compact yoga mat

Line up one for daytime stretching to reset both your mind and body. A 5-minute stretch session is often enough to get you back sharper and more energetic.

Blue light glass

Long days on the screen will wreak havoc on your eyes and sleep. Stylish blue light glasses can help protect your eyes and reduce headaches and digital fatigue.

For hydration and nutrition

Caraph & Glass Set

A beautiful reminder to drink more water. By keeping this set on my desk, hydration feels like a ritual rather than a chore.

A mug that will bring joy

I reach for my solstice mug every day. It is the most cozy container of coffee and tea, and that morning break feels intentionally.

The lunch gear you love

If you tend to graze at your desk, you look forward to cooking lunch. This stainless steel We encourage you to enjoy a proper meal away from your computer. My biggest lunch hack is to use A bowl bigger than you thinkWhisk together the lemon and olive oil, then throw the salad components (crunchy, sweet, salty), and toss with flake-like sea salt for enjoyment.

For posture and comfort

Laptop stand

If you’re working on a laptop all day, this is not possible to negotiate. Improved screen to eye level supports better posture, prevents neck strain and reduces the risk of carpal tunnel over time.

Ergonomic desk chair

A chic chair that supports your spine is worth investing. Look for ones with adjustable heights and lumbar support. Keep your body happy throughout long work sessions without sacrificing aesthetics.

Standing desk (or desk converter)

The freedom to move while sitting and standing is a game changer. It helps in circulation, gives you more energy in the afternoon, and makes it easier to sneak in with stretches during the call.

Due to the atmosphere and flow

Warm lighting desk lamp

Good lighting is more important than you think. The soft, warm glow minimizes eye tension and makes the space seem attractive even when working late.

Bluetooth speaker or playlist ritual

Sound is one of the easiest ways to set the mood. Light a candle, open a notebook, and queue your playlists. It’s like flipping the mental switch into work mode.

Take home

Working from home doesn’t have to mean shattering sweatpants on the kitchen table (but you don’t know if it’s your vibe or not). A layer of some thoughtful essentials allows you to design a workspace that is not functional, but it is actually exciting.
