The Trump administration is facing a backlash after a new White House counterterrorism directive named “radical pro-trans” groups among the domestic ideologies that federal agencies must monitor.

The 16-page strategy memo directs intelligence agencies to focus on groups deemed to be “anti-American, deeply pro-trans, and anarchist,” while also emphasizing efforts against international threats such as cartels and foreign extremist organizations. However, discussion of domestic right-wing extremist movements is noticeably absent.
