The official trailer has been released Sally, Sally Ride, the first American woman in the universe, and a new documentary about the film promises to explore her relationship with her 27-year-old female partner, Tam O’Shafsy.

The National Geographic film is directed by Cristina Costantini, director of Muck Media’s Emmy Winning, and is directed by Costantini, Lauren Cioffi, Oscar, Emmy winner Dan Cogan, and Story Syndicate’s Emmy winner Jon Bardin. O’Shaughnessy is an executive producer. It will appear on the National Geographic Channel at 9pm/8pm Central on June 16th, and can be streamed on Disney+ and Hulu the next day. This release is near the anniversary of Ride’s history creation flight, June 18, 1983, at the Space Shuttle Challenger.
Sally It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and has since been screened at several other festivals. “In a perfect planet, or just an open and fair society, the ride could have been the amazing astronaut she was, and touted as “Sally” to quote Oshafsy, “I’m out and proud.” Variety Reported in a review of Sundance Screening. “Many of the films are informed by explanations about Oshafsey’s relationship. King is featured in the film along with Sally’s younger sister, Bear Ride. her mother, Carol Joyce Ride; Oshafsey; Other astronauts who took part in the Space Program on their 1978 rides: Anna Fisher, Kathy Sullivan, John Fabian, Steve Hawley. Holy was married to ride for five years before his relationship with Oshafsy. The documentation says that riding with him was “in good faith” married, but he suspected that she was gay, but was not sure.
