Once upon a time, Republicans attributed the collapse of the totalitarian Soviet Union to Reagan’s powerful, moral anti-communist principles.

Peters wrote in 1992 that “the death penalty for gay people is stipulated in the Bible.” Now, the Christian Nationals and their allies Trump and Putin are making self-determined exceptions to the Ten Commandments, talking about morality.
