Festival season is about to get a sci-fi upgrade courtesy of Trixie Mattel. Trixie Mattel is rolling out new live DJ experiences titled; super disco Alongside a fresh reimagining of Madonna,hang up”
This new version of the pop classic was produced by Trixie with vocals from J.L. and continues his recent club-focused reworkings, including No Doubt’s “”.hellagoodBonnie McKee and “Let’s do KiKi” Alongside VNSSA and Lushious Massacr.
But a bigger story is happening on stage.
‘Superdisco’ dominates festival season

This time, she’s not just a DJ, she’s also directing a sci-fi story about people arriving on Earth from a pink jungle planet to intervene in humanity’s collapse into greed, automation, and chaos.

Each stop will feature what the announcement describes as Trixie’s biggest live work to date, combining new music, remixes and expanded visual storytelling.
The sci-fi story behind the dance floor

“New tracks, remixes, bootlegs… I want to provide a sense of escapism, but I’m also weaving a story where love and humanity triumph over greed and automation. It’s riskier than anything I’ve ever done on the festival circuit,” she said.
Trixie said the inspiration came from a combination of classic science fiction and cultural commentary.
“I’ve been reading a lot of news, Star Trek, The Jetsons, Watchmen rereads, and old science fiction, so I knew I wanted a space and alien theme,” she said. “Musically, I lean towards what I love the most: retro disco, funk and funky house.”
She added that the visual world creates contrast between opposing forces.
“Visually, the ‘worst parts of America’ personified by male villains obsessed with the military, robotics and greed are contrasted with Trixie, who hails from a pink jungle planet that values love and connection.”
From drag racing to the dance floor
This announcement marks a new evolution in a career that goes far beyond drag performance.
Since winning RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, Trixie has built a multi-platform career spanning music releases, cosmetics, comedy, podcasting, and publishing.
