After more than 50 years rocky horror show The new documentary that first shocked and delighted audiences celebrates the strange, sexy, and very queer legacy of the midnight movie phenomenon. And now you can watch all the magic come to life from the comfort of your own home.

Strange Journey: The Rocky Horror Story ‘ will arrive on digital platforms on June 2nd, giving fans an intimate look at how a small London production transformed into one of the most beloved cult films of all time. Directed by Linus O’Brien, the documentary features interviews with original author Richard O’Brien, along with Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, producer Lou Adler, and stars such as Trixie Mattel and Jack Black.

The 89-minute documentary explores the rise, fall, and resurgence of the world. rocky horrortraces the path of a frontier theater from oddity to cultural institution, fueled by late-night screenings, audience participation, and generations of queer fans who found community in the glittering chaos.

“When you’re trying to figure things out, you can go to a place where there are a lot of people trying to figure it out,” Sarandon says in the trailer. “You can be there and be accepted for who you are.”

His unforgettable line, “Don’t dream, just be” became more than just a catchphrase, it became a rallying cry for generations of fans who saw themselves reflected in the film’s unapologetically strangeness.

For long-time fans and first-timers alike, strange journey It looks like a loving celebration of a film that helped redefine cult cinema and queer pop culture forever. The documentary premiered at SXSW in 2025 and has since been shown in theaters and special events across the country.
