US Rep. Angie Craig, who represents Minnesota’s Second Congressional District, announced Monday that she could run for the US Senate.

“I’m seriously considering an open Senate seat in Minnesota,” she wrote in a social media post. “I will talk a few weeks ago with Minnesotans and how best to continue serving my community and make decisions in the near future.”
Craig is currently a ranking member of the House Agriculture Committee.
Craig, the first person LGBTQ+The person who represents Minnesota in Congress was first elected in 2018. She turned the Republican district over.
“I represent the most evenly divided districts in America, currently represented by Democrats,” Craig said earlier.Supporters. “That means I’m sitting with everyone, and certainly sitting on these issues that I’ve always had personal opportunities in the past.”
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Craig said he understands firsthand the importance of representation and visibility. She and her wife, Cheryl Green, are mothers of grown children. In the interview, Craig highlighted how she frequently uses her personal stories to build bridges with her Republican colleagues. “I’m continuing to try to do role models,” she said. “My wife and I have been married for nearly 20 years. We raised four sons together. We have two grandchildren.”
