In case you missed it, in his recent episode Las Culturistas with podcast bowen yangthe co-hosts had a conversation about their past and present political choices before turning to Jasmine, who is currently running for the Texas Senate.

Matt’s comments came after discussing Gavin Newsom’s possible run for president in 2028, on which he said: “Any time a politician makes things that are too obvious about themselves, I’m done.” He went on to say, “And don’t waste your money by sending it to Jasmine Crockett. Don’t do that. It’ll be a waste of money.”

What followed was considerable discourse defending and criticized Matt’s comments, and now he has issued an apology via a statement posted to his email address IG stories.

“Hey everyone,” he wrote. “I’ll listen to the responses and take them all to heart, I promise. Transparency and candor are important to me, especially on the podcast. I’m a very progressive person who genuinely cares about winning elections, but I didn’t word myself correctly. I’ll be more thoughtful! I really promise.”

“While I have great respect and admiration for Congressman Crockett, I regret that my words suggested otherwise. I just want us to win, and I will find better ways to help.”
