Friday, May 8th

Center Aging’s monthly luncheon with yoga is held at noon at the DC Center for the LGBT Community. Send email to your Mac [email protected] If you need ASL interpreter assistance, have dietary restrictions, or have questions about this event.

Women in their 20s and 30s will participate via Zoom from 7 p.m. This is a social discussion group for gay women in the Washington, DC area. For more information, please visit the group’s site. facebook.

The DC Center for the LGBT Community will host “We Are Pat” from 12:30 p.m. The event takes a new look at Saturday Night Live’s iconic sketch “It’s Pat,” tracing how ideas about gender and what we laugh at have changed from the ’90s to today. What began as a character born out of cultural anxieties about gender has now landed in a world shaped by ongoing conversations about transgender and queerness. Saturday, May 9th

Go Gay DC will host an “LGBTQ+ Community Brunch” at Freddy’s Beach Bar & Restaurant starting at 11 a.m. This fun weekly event brings together the DMV area’s LGBTQ community (including allies) for great food and conversation. Participation is free and details can be found here event bright.

Sunday, May 10th

The Drag Queen Sip and Paint Experience Washington, DC will be held at Town Tavern from 4 p.m. This is an amazing experience brought to you by Sip and Paint USA, which combines the joy of painting with the vibrant energy of drag queens for an hour and a half of fun, creativity, and entertainment. Participants paint on canvas while enjoying cocktails under the guidance of a glamorous drag queen host. Tickets are $47.19 and available below. event bright.

Monday, May 11th

“Center Aging: Monday Coffee Klatch” will be held at 10 a.m. on Zoom. This is a social hour for LGBTQ seniors. Guests are encouraged to bring their own beverage of choice. For more information, see Adam ([email protected]).

Genderqueer DC will be held on Zoom from 7 p.m. This is a support group for people who identify outside the gender binary, whether they identify as bigender, agender, genderfluid, or just know they’re not 100% cis. For more information, please visit: genderqueerDC.org or facebook.

Tuesday, May 12th

The trans discussion group will be held on Zoom from 7 p.m. This event aims to provide an emotionally and physically safe space for trans* people and those who are questioning their gender identity or expression to engage in community and learn from each other. The Coming Out Discussion Group will be held on Zoom starting at 7 p.m. This is a safe space to share your experiences with coming out and discuss topics related to coming out. By sharing their struggles and triumphs, groups allow both those who are newly coming out and those who have been out for a while to learn from others. Wednesday, May 13th

Job clubs will be held on Zoom at 6pm upon request. This is a weekly job support program designed to help job seekers and candidates, including the long-term unemployed, improve their confidence, motivation, resilience and productivity, as well as assist them with effective job searching and networking, enabling participants to move from being mere ‘applicants’ to ‘candidates’. The DC Center for the LGBT Community will host “Movement for Healing” from 3 p.m. This trauma and yoga therapy-based class is designed to help guests gently reconnect with their bodies and breath. Through mindful movement, body awareness, and grounding practices, guests will explore ways to release tension, increase mobility, and cultivate a deeper sense of inner safety and peace. Thursday, May 14th

A virtual yoga class will be held on Zoom starting at 7 p.m. This free weekly class combines yoga, breathing exercises, and meditation to help members of the LGBTQ+ community continue their healing journey through physical and mindfulness practices.
