Mr. Van Hollen requested that Mr. Patel take the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT), a screening questionnaire commonly used by medical professionals to assess problematic alcohol use.

The form shows a total score of 3, which is generally considered a low risk for alcohol misuse. According to the survey, Van Hollen reported drinking alcohol two to three times a week, typically having one or two drinks at a time, but marked “never” on questions about addiction, blackouts, injuries and not being able to control his drinking.
