hollyoaks has recast fan-favorite transgender character Law Hutchinson, with the role now being played by a transgender actor.
Law is the son of Tony and Diane Hutchinson. The character first appeared on screen in 2013, and actress Eva Webster took over the role in 2023.
Since last year, the British soap has followed Roe, a 13-year-old teenager who decides to begin her social transition. Roe’s parents, Diane (Alex Fletcher) and Tony (Nick Pickard), have been supportive of Roe’s transition, despite initial reservations, but in recent months Roe has increasingly struggled with his mental health.

Webster will step down from the role and a new transgender actor will take over.
Mr Webster will be replaced by Leo Cole, who proudly shares on his Instagram profile that he is a “transgender man”. Cole, 17, shared a series of images from the set on Instagram with the caption: “Big news…I’m in Hollyoaks!”
His caption read, “I’m so excited to continue Raw’s journey on the show and so lucky to have this opportunity.
“Of course, my biggest thanks go to my mom, who has always believed in me and supported me every step of the way.”
Comments under the post congratulated the actor, including his agent Hayley Tamaddon, best known for playing Del Dingle in the film. emerdale and andrea beckett coronation street, “I couldn’t be more proud. We’ve come a long way. 😚🫶🏽”
In an Instagram post, Tamadon shared a touching video of Cole telling his mother that he “got a regular role in a movie.” hollyoaks.
She wrote in the caption: “This couldn’t have happened to a boy who was so wonderful and deserved so much more. He has an incredible life story, but I’ll let him tell it. Leo, I’m glad I was there from the beginning…and I’ll always be here for you. And now I’m your agent…you can’t kick me out! 🤣🫶🏽.”
