GB news program alex armstrong tonight More than 9,000 further Ofcom complaints were made after guest Caroline Farrow linked Pride to pedophilia.
That episode, Broadcast on July 5threceived 257 Ofcom complaints last week. This week there were 9,058 cases, bringing the total to 9,315.
“The problem is that Pride is not about gay rights,” Farrow, a Catholic journalist and global campaign manager for CitizenGO, a platform that “defends life, family and liberty,” said during the show. It has become a glorification of all forms of sexuality that are not heterosexual.People with very strange and unhealthy fetishes and fetishes, such as furries and bestiality, and even minor attractions, they call themselves pedophiles. ”
Fellow guest, former Liberal Democrat MP Matthew Hulbert, can be heard saying: “That’s not true.”
Presenter Alex Armstrong then said: “I went to Pride last year and filmed it for GB News. Actually, I would say there was a good reason for the overwhelming number of people who turned out for Pride. I don’t think it was full of pedophiles and all that. I’m sure there are some nefarious people.”
Associating the LGBTQ+ community with pedophilia, or “people who are attracted to minors” as the right wing claims, is an untrue, age-old homophobic trope that anti-LGBTQ+ people use to demonize queer people.
GB News told Pink News last week: “These comments were expressed by one of our contributors during a live debate. They are her own views and do not reflect the views or editorial position of GB News. Anyone who was watching the discussion GB News takes its responsibilities as a regulated broadcaster seriously and complies with all of its obligations under the Ofcom Broadcasting Act.”
Alex Armstrong’s response
Following the outrage Farrow’s comments sparked on social media and Ofcom, Armstrong issued a statement condemning her views.
During this he said: July 12th episode alex armstrong tonight“Tonight, I would like to address the outrage from the LGBT community and follow up on comments made by one of my guests last weekend. I welcome robust and difficult debate on this channel, and especially on this show. We are not, and never will be, an echo chamber for anyone. That’s why we always speak out against them on all of our shows, and we want all sides of every discussion to be heard.”
“So it became even more important to me that if a guest comes on my show and says something that could be considered homophobic or highly offensive, that those things are challenged and balanced by me and my guest. But sometimes I feel like I need to go a little further, so that’s what I’m going to do tonight.”
“A guest’s comment last weekend conflated gay pride with a celebration of pedophilia. This is an age-old gay trope that has been used to demonize and denigrate gay people for years. And as I told the guest in that corner, this is a statement I fundamentally reject and have never witnessed when I attended Pride myself.”
“The discussion we were supposed to have was about whether Pride is suitable for children. Those comments by guests had no place in that discussion and, in my opinion, were lazy and offensive discussions that did not reflect my views or the views of this channel, where many LGBT people also work.
“I take serious issue with social media commentators and activist groups claiming that I have made such statements, or intentionally attempting to misrepresent my views in other ways in an attempt to paint me as homophobic. I will not be slandered by politically motivated people or the media who seek to cancel me simply because I disagree with their political ideology.”
“As many of you may already know, I am openly gay. I rarely talk or talk about my sexuality much because I believe it is just a part of my personality. And frankly, I don’t think the British public cares or cares about who I’m attracted to. And being gay has no bearing on my politics, and it never should.”
“I maintain that Pride is not suitable for children. Even the so-called Family Day contains adult content and products. I have witnessed it myself. There is a lot of alcohol, revealing clothing, and political propaganda, all of which I believe is not suitable for children.”

of July 9th episode patrick christie’s tonightOn that day, Aquanana’s presentation resulted in 1,202 complaints from Ofcom.
The complaint relates to comments made by guest Sharon Davis, who, speaking about the school, said, “We have teachers who are inside the system, and we have a very LGBT-driven agenda, so we’re concerned about that. We’re concerned about the possibility of grooming. There’s grooming online, and kids are very susceptible to that. And then there’s grooming in the classroom, and there’s social contagion.”
