After years of love triangles, haute couture chaos, and dreamy European backdrops, Netflix’s emily in paris will officially end with the upcoming season 6.

Production on the final season begins today in Greece, with star Lily Collins and creator Darren Star documenting the bittersweet moment by sharing behind-the-scenes photos from the set.

The picturesque filming location ties directly into the dramatic Season 5 finale, where Gabriel, played by Lucas Bravo, sent Emily a postcard inviting her to meet him in Greece. Now that Season 6 has been confirmed as the series’ final chapter, fans are already speculating that the long-running will-they-won’t-they romance will finally come to an end.

Collins also addressed viewers in a heartfelt video message, teasing that the farewell season will offer everything viewers love about the show.

“Season 6 delivers everything you love about this show and marks the final chapter of Emily’s once-in-a-lifetime adventure,” Collins said. “The entire cast and crew are working hard to make this a wonderful farewell season.”

One of the standout arcs of the season so far has been the relationship between Camille (Camille Lazzatto) and Sofia (Melia Kreiling). And how can we forget that Julien, Emily’s stylish and fiercely ambitious colleague Agence Grateau, played by Samuel Arnold, is an openly gay character?

Ashley Park previously told Gatey why she believes viewers connect so deeply with the show’s emotional core.

“Emily and many of the characters are like fish out of water,” Park said. “They’re put in an environment without community, but we really see these people opening up to each other and finding a place with each other.”
